Very protective, stay in place well
I upgraded from my Air VPD knee pads after a crash. Previously I had good experiences with the Air VPD pads and I still wear them for some riding, but in a major crash I still ended up with a huge bruise on one knee that took weeks to go away. The Joint VPD pads are thicker and firmer material and definitely more protective. They are a bit stiffer and less comfortable to wear, so there is a trade off. I choose which pads to use based on where I will be riding. I found these more comfortable and at least as protective as other brands I tried (Fox, Leatt). Would buy again.

Great protection, good comfort, and they stay up much better than previous version
These are my second paid of POC knee pads. The first pair were smaller, easier to slip on, but also easier to slide down when pedaling. The V2 pair have the additional lower strap which aids in keeping the pads in place when pedaling and their protection for the weight is exceptional. I had a bad crash in 2020 with several broken bones but my knees were not even scratched. The pads provide excellent protection. I suspect the new design will be hotter in the summer months since they are longer but they also provide better side protection for the knee which is a worthwhile sacrifice over being comfortable in the heat.

The last set of knee pads you will buy.
When I first put these on… They fit rather snuggly. I thought they were going to be really uncomfortable when I rode my bike, or pinch my legs in weird places. After the first 10 minutes of writing… They immediately stretched out to fit my leg perfectly. They didn’t prevent circulation, and actually breathe very well. They provide a lot more protection than I realized with the thick layer of foam. I have another pair of kneepads that are much thinner and lighter that are probably better for cross country stuff. But these are perfect if you are learning how to jump, or hitting trails with much more unforgiving features.Perfect for a new rider learning or an advanced rider who wants protection. From the build quality, I can expect to have these for a very long time.

They don't stay in place, and tags are itchy
Firstly, yes I got the right size. They fit me perfectly. The problem is that they don't stay up when pedaling. These might be fine for bike park laps, but I had to pull them back up after just a few minutes of pedaling. I have some ratty, torn up, 5-year-old TLD pads that stay in place just fine. I'll be going back to those. The tags on the inside are also quite bothersome. If the pads stayed up, this would be an easy fix with a razor blade, but thought I'd mention it. POC could learn a thing or two about tag material/location and, more importantly, how competitor brands are able to design pads that don't fall down your shin after just a few minutes of pedaling.

Not comfortable after their first washing
Out of the box I loved these pads and they were all-day comfortable - and then they were washed in cold water and drip-dried. After that the fabric bunched up at the top and now scratches and is uncomfortable against my leg. I will be contacting POC as to how to remedy this issue.

Try a size smaller-straps too long, too bulky for XC climbing/packing, perfect for bike park pedaling and DH,
I have been mountain biking with these pads for over a year now and they have not shown wear yet. I don't typically wear them while doing any serious climbing because of the way the feel while your knees are bending, and straightening out repeatedly (same issue fit as with all knee pads really). I do however throw these on for all downhill riding that I do, and for when pedaling around the bike park. They don't rub awkwardly anywhere, and fit like a glove. Minor issues: Unlike the VPD air version, these are rather bulky when storing in your bag for large climbs (I can shove them in my pack pretty easily, and can stuff other gear behind the knee area). 2) I think I should have gone with a size smaller, because the straps are not short enough (they have too much stretch in them) to create a nice and tight feel. This problem however is somewhat augmented by the fact that the pad is like a sleeve, and the straps are pretty much a secondary way to keep them on. So I guess I'd say you should try a size smaller first, and then go from there.

First impression these look like a quality product
Knee pads appear to be high quality. I'm 5'10" and 190 lbs and the large fits well without being uncomfortably tight. Originally I ordered mediums and could barely get them on/off. I bought these for a trip I'm taking out west, but will likely wear them on certain trails back home in Michigan. I will update after I get some rides in.Product appears to be quality, but was very disappointed how my package arrived. Guess I'm lucky these pads are meant to take a beating because it looks like they went through hell getting here.

Good protection, mild comfort, way better than gauze and cohesive wrap.
At 62 years old I did not bounce and roll during the last crash, I just sort of slid and left a lot of skin behind. As with other reviews they are mildly uncomfortable but you get used to it. True to fit, they stay secured, very protective and I don’t worry as much about the next time I die on the trail.

Vergleich zwischen drei der besten Knieschoner
The media could not be loaded.
Zitat:"After checking with the product management at POC directly, I have to inform you that POC unfortunately decided not to treat these guards with Polygiene anymore. The ones you have bought will unfortunately not stay fresh as the older models did.The small symbol on the package was a production mistake only."Nach einer kurzen 20km Tour fingen deswegen die Schoner auch an bestialisch zu stinken!Das ist für mich eine Verarsche von POC, gerade weil der POC-Kundensupport angeben hat, das die Schoner trotzdem mit Polygiene beschichtet worden sind. So ist der Preis im Vergleich zur Konkurenz zu hoch!

Great protection, but don't expect to be pedalling much.
Comfortable, stay in place really well thanks to the two velcro straps, and I ccan bet they will give a lot of protection (not crashed in them yet).Would not reccomend these for anywhere without uplift though, unless you're happy dropping them to your ankles and pedalling up fire roads - you can't take them off without taking your shoes off too.

Good heavy duty kneepad
So personally I would classify these as enduro or downhill knee pads. They are really protective and give me a lot of confidence over gnarly technical terrain, however I wouldn't want to wear them if I were only doing casual trail riding as they restrict leg rotation a fair bit. The fit well and stay in place without falling down. Overall they are a good set of pads.

Great protection, comfortable fit
I have had a few knee protectors now and this one is so far the most comfortable one. I don’t notice that they’re on when mountainbiking. Luckily haven’t had a fall yet, so don’t know how they would protect the knees (yet).
