Great product! Good quality and easy to use.
Since I have absolutely no paper making experience, I was nervous about making paper with holes, lumps, strange textures and other unappealing qualities. My first sheet of paper came out perfectly! The process is fairly simple, and while I have not had the kit for very long, it seems like it will hold up for a while. One note, I believe I was using the two included screens "backwards," (one lines the wooden mold as you first drain the water from the paper pulp, and one aids you in removing water afterward) and one got a little clogged with paper particles. One screen is very, very fine and is double-layered, and the other is more like a window screen. I corrected the clogging issue by simply using the window screen for direct draining, and using the fine screen for the drying process. Problem solved!Overall, I love the kit and think it's a great introduction to paper making. If you are nervous about the ease of the process, Arnold Grummer has a YouTube video in which he uses this kit. I found it to be very helpful!

Great product
Great set with everything you need to make paper. I have a lot of scrap since I'm always drawing/painting so I love being able to recycle. If you're going to be making a bunch I suggest getting another pack of couch papers but there are other things you can use too. Instructions were easy to follow and there is certainly a bit of a learning curve but overall I'd recommend this if you want to begin making your own paper!

Nice quality, not perfect for this beginner
Works pretty well except for very fine pulp as the screen isn’t super fine. Also, the screen will sometimes move as the Velcro straps don’t keep it perfectly tight, that can cause bubbles or ripples in the sheet.

First Papermaking Experience
After doing some Internet research and finding some papermaking products overly costly, I decided to go with this papermaker. It was important to me that I choose a "POUR" method of making paper as I didn't want the mess of dipping, nor did I want to concoct my own "dipping" frame/s.This Arnold Grummer Pour Handmold was perfect for my first attempts at paper making. The directions are very clear and step-by-step with photos. I turned out several sheets my first try using flower petals, seeds, etc. My first piece was made with daisy petals and I love it so much I do not plan to use it! :) It is a neat reminder that papermaking is easy and fun and lets me use my love for flowers at the same time. (I found an Oster blender at the thrift store for only $5.00 to dedicate to my papermaking)One thing I discovered is that, despite the claims you can use the couching paper over and over, I would not spend the money on separate "couching" paper as I got only two drying "sessions" with one piece of couching paper. IE: After drying two pieces of paper the couching paper raveled like when you rub wet paper and it peels. I used smooth towels and found it helpful to use parchment paper if you iron it dry with an iron. I used the same sheet of parchment paper to iron more than a few sheets of handmade paper. Also, on my second try with the papermaker I did not add nearly as much water to the bason (dipping tub)as stated in the directions. It worked far better for me to not have a nearly full tub of water. You will learn to gauge it, but all said you need only enough water to slur the paper from the blender.I would highly recommend this papermaking mold as a starter and it may be the only mold you will ever want. I do wish to purchase the envelope mold at some future date.

Didn't capture the imagination
The kit is nice, but didn't capture the recipient's imagination (a little girl with a big creative bent). It needs more in the way of contents, samples, ingredients, and other enticements.

A wonderful hobby kit
Bought it to try papermaking. it works wonderfully. Have made a large selection of natural papers for art projects and framing. Will probably buy a larger frame soon

Papermaking...not as fun as its cracked up to be
I was all excited about paper making, until I actually did it.The product is good quality (Though be sure to buy more of the absorbent sheets unless you only want to make two or three sheets at a time); however, I would like you to consider a few things -1. if you are not using a sizing, which is beyond my skill, you can expect to get paper that is relatively easy to tear and all but unsuitable for using markers on or embossing. I was able to skirt this issue by running the paper through the printer to get e-stamps. If you have a color printer, this could be especially beautiful2. water water everywhere3. if you use glitter, expect it to turn up everywhere. it just never goes away! twenty pages later, you'll see a couple little flecks show up in your otherwise perfect page! arg!4. a little goes a long way...if you are adding a different colored paper or small flowers or anything to your paper slurry, just know that less is often more5. stuff i added to the slurry that didnt work out so bad - raw green tea from a bag (black tea was a mistake), cinnamon and vanilla (the smell went away when I ironed it, but it left an interesting color and texture to the paper. glitter (as discussed above, dont do this), construction paper (this worked really well when i got the construction paper down to as fine a pulp as I could and made sure not to use too much. Brewed tea - this tined the paper a lovely light light brown.6. I tried the embossing and found that without a paper press, the results, while visible, just werent worth it for me. Mr. Grummer knows what he is doing...apparently I do not!4. again, dont expect paper strength paper. It wont even be as strong as construction paper.
