great and lightweight, but mounting track weakest point
I've owned this for a little over a year (as well as rear sks Xdry) but only used it a dozen times or so (try to avoid muddy/raining days as it's not good for the trails). Mounts great on my 6" fork, and takes second to put and take off, and stays during bumpy downhills and jumps (I like rough decent). Maybe a bit narrow for my 2.4 front tire though it's kept most of the mud off my face (still some on lower legs) so I might try what appears to be slightly wider shockblade 26.Only issue has been (and I remember that the first time I put it on thinking that might be the weak part) is the sliding track to mount is all plastic and rather thin. Well, second time I put my bike in my friend's pickup truck (wheel outside) and the fender catches another bike and broke at the track. Called customer service who is sending me a replacement which is very nice, so I will give this another try. But I'm thinking the metal mounting version of the grand D.A.D (which I will likely get for my DH bike with 2.7 tire) and Shockblade vario might be a safer choice. Wish they had metal mounting track, but otherwise same design, as this is the weak spot IMO.

great value /quality
what a difference with the guard on, I ride in a heavy muddy area after a rain, really keeps me dry. I also have a mud guard for the rear by the same SKS co.Both are EZ to install and uninstall for those dry day rides, very flexable, looks great too.you wont be disapointed with a guard from SKS. There great.

Very sturdy, well-made bike fender
I bought this for a mountain bike, and was thoroughly impressed by the construction quality of the fender and its mounting hardware. The mechanism for attaching it to the front fork is quite clever, and seems exceptionally sturdy. It took me a few minutes to figure out how it attaches, but after that installation took mere moments. It's important to follow the directions carefully, otherwise I can see how it could be a lot harder to install than necessary. Once the mounting hardware is secured to your front fork, the fender has a quick-release lock for easy removal. The fender itself blocks virtually all mud spray from my front tire. Every now and then a drop or two will get past, but then again if you're riding through rain and/or mud, that's to be expected. It's also super lightweight and doesn't flap around when trail riding. Overall, I'd highly recommend this fender to anyone who's not down with dirt and rocks flying up in your face while bombing down a hill. You get what you pay for, and this fender is top-notch.

Possible clearance issues with Lefty fork
I have a Cannondale F29 with a lefty fork. I got this thinking it would help block dirt from getting between the lower bearing and lower lefty mounting clamp. Mounting required some trimming of the fender. Mounting was easy enough with the largest supplied expanding plastic collet. Once mounted though, I could see there might be some clearance issues. With the lefty at full compression (air removed), the tire hits the fender mounting point under the steerer tube. The back of the tire hits the fender as well. This might work okay if you have a lefty that has at least 2 inches of clearance between the tire and steerer tube. So measure first before cutting. I ended up just putting this on my fiancee's 26er Rockhopper with a Tora 318 Air- looks great and with enough clearance.

Convient to remove when not needed
Works as expected, keeps the rain/mud off my shoes N legs. I'm a tall guy, with a large bike, works great. Not too terribly difficult to mount to my bike (specialized), took my time, explored different configurations, found a sweet spot.Very happy I can remove this when it's not needed!

Great fender on 26", somewhat less so on 29er.
I have two of these. One has been used whenever wet for several years on a 26" hardtail for daily commuting mostly on pavement. The other I've used for a few months on a 29er. The fender does a very good job of fending off spray on the 26", but only a reasonable job on the 29er. SKS doesn't actually recommend it for 29ers, because of the reduced coverage. I'd happier with it on the bigger bike if I didn't know how much better it works on the smaller. 29er owners might want to consider a larger fender. That said, I am satisfied with it on both bikes because it is strong, durable and goes on/off easily. The reason I have two is the bikes are in different places.

Live saver. But not for tappered forks.
After riding in the mad and the rain without it you will understand why it is a life saver. No mud and rain in your eyes, no brown patches on your back. However, it is not suitable for tapered forks. You will need to make special adaptations if you have a tapered fork. It is doable but not straight out of the box.
