LEGO 70837 The Movie 2 Shimmer & Shine Sparkle Spa!

My son is obsessed with Lego especially lego movie we nearly have every set. This was a great addition very well thought out and we enjoyed building this together and playing with it and the character after.

This was purchased for my granddaughter’s birthday. She loved it and it was soon built with the help from Daddy. Photos sent to show it off.

Ive looked after little kids so i know some kids references but not other. I first read this as Shimmer and Shine. OOh i thought, its lego about the genies, shimmer and shine....... wonder where they are? searched the whole set, no shimmer, no shine....... Hmmmm.... then i saw unikitty, wtf is unikitty doing in shimmer and shine? Right so obvs ive never seen lego movie 2. Its obviously not a lego set about genies. Good job i didnt say any of this out loud, my nephews would have been howling!I love this set, i do love lego and was happy to help my littlest nephew build this, he loves lego but isnt quite confident enough (or has the attention span) to build this alone but hes getting better.The set is lovely, im a sucker for a see through brick so the big speaker stand is fab. This set is for any fan of the lego movie who likes building lego sets, as its is lego it is totally compatible with all other lego. Its a really nice set, took us ages to build (a few different sessions) and it makes a nice playset.

As a small boy my parents bought me so much Lego, it is frightening to think about how much they spent. The bricks and shapes I could create kept me fascinated for hours. I remember my finest "creation" was built from a box of "Technical" lego and it was a motorised crane. I still have it all in a great big Lego floor bag. Sadly the instructions to build the crane has gone, but it does not stop the next generations from using their imaginations and creativity to build things from the innocent looking bricks. When Vine offers Lego sets I, of course, grab them, but nowadays, I ensure they are not mixed up with the general bag and the boxes and instructions are kept.This set will build an archway and spa facility for a character called balthazar. It has a hot tub and massage table. It also contains 8 characters from the Lego movie, one looks like a bat, another a flamingo and other smaller creatures. It also comes with all the bricks you need and very clear instructions. This is a relatively simple set and it should be OK for 5 years and older. Once built, Lego is about imagination and this set will "fire" up the young imagination. It's a nice set and is incredibly interactive. I am happy to Recommend it.

I have to admit it, I do like Lego, and the challenge of building a set from scratch. I chose this product because I thought it would be a nice small afternoon project to complete. It's... a lot bigger than I expected. It's arrived in a huge box for a start. Inside are the Lego bricks, in numbered bags, and the instructions to put it all together. Oh my goodness - you don't half get a lot of stuff! It did take ages to put together - definitely several hours - and you will need to sit at a table so that you don't lose any parts. But you get enough bricks to make a spa, complete with a hot tub, a massive flamingo, and a massage table. Because who doesn't need a Lego massage table in their lives? You also get a load of minifigures too, including a vampire, Wildstyle, and Unikitty. I'm an adult, building Lego, and I found it relatively easy to follow the instructions. I think this will be great for younger fans too, but it might take a few sessions to complete. It does make a great spa at the end though, and I can imagine younger children having great fun playing with the completed set! All in all, I love it!

This lovely 694-piece Lego set contain characters from the Lego Movie 2. I gave it to my seven-year-old nephew, who is a huge Lego fan and was very happy with it.The set contains various figures - Balthazar the Vampire Bat (very cool shiny, glassy hair), Benny (with different expression on either side of his face), Lucy (great hair, and also a second expression on the other side of her face), Calm-down Kitty, Archimedes, Flaminga, and Eight. My nephew loved these alone, before he'd even built the Shimmer and Shine Sparkle Spa!The spa contains lots of moving parts, and lots of cool icy looking pieces made from the same material as Balthazaar's hair. IT really does shimmer, and looks amazing when finished. My nephew didn't have any problems building it - I had to help with affixing and few of the smaller pieces, but he generally did it all himself.Overall, as someone who grew up with Lego 30 years ago, I was very impressed at how much more complexity and detail is involved in Lego today. There is so much variety in the bricks used (shape and style), shapes available and far more moving parts. The spa provides loads of playing opportunities, and really stimulates the imagination. Brilliant set.
