4-Way Equal Pressure Clamp: Clamps For Woodworking: desertcart.com: Tools & Home Improvement Review: It works. - It works for what I intended. Review: Fantastic product if you need it nothing else will do - These clamps are fantastic. I have been using them to glue up cutting boards. I made the calls out of a 2x4 as instructed and it worked ok, but I decided to make some out of 1-1/2" square steel tube. I welded some small pieces of 1" angle on the top in 2" increments and the clamps are dead on. When I do the glue-ups I cover the one side of the calls with duct tape and they come off clean. Great product if you can make straight calls.

Great Idea / Poor Quality
My heading says it all. It is a GREAT design but really inferior quality. WAY too lightweight in its girth. It needs to be as substantial as a "Pony Clamp" but is less than half that hefty. So, I am torn in my overall attitude about this product. It's ability to act as a set of calls is really neat and incredibly useful during glue-ups. But you can't put much "umph" behind it or it will be in pieces. Combined with a quality set of bar clamps or trusty pipe clamps to augment your glue up process, the results will be satisfactory. I would LOVE to see a re-engineered version with the brawn this tool deserves.

There's got to be a better way
I'm a pro. Way to clumsy to use. Tried dry fitting boards and had to keep adjusting to clamp up . I even tried modifying the hole size with no luck. They instructed a hole size too small and would slip out a lot. Next I went and got some Jorgensen Handscrew wood clamps and what a dream to use with bar clamps for faster setups. Sure the Jorgensen don't clamp up large projects but you can get just the hardware and build any size clamp

Nice clamps
First of all, if you don't have a drill press and a table saw don't even think of trying to build the clamp boards. I have both, so that wasn't an issue for me. The instructions state that the pads are optional, but they're really not if you're gluing 2-by lumber - the non-screw ends won't spread properly for 2-by's without the pads. Once set up, they work well and deliver on all the promises. Much better than pipe clamps. Glad I bought them!

Slip a lot
You really really want to buy the wood river ones that come with plastic add ons. If you use 2x4s as intended here, they tend to slip out of the notches under pressure.

4way pressure clamp
this is a really good clamp.. love it a lot--its easy to work with and you dont have a bunch of small clamps, trying to hold the boards together while drying.. one clamp does it all..this one is really great in that it is more universal, cause you can make the clamp boards as long as you want and dont have to re-screw any brackets on the tops of the boards..
