AWESOME hair metal/hard rock - genre fans will LOVE this!
Even though L.A. Guns weren't deemed "as good" or weren't as popular as Guns 'n' Roses or AC/DC, they were still very very good (for a couple albums). Most people seem to laugh at the thought of hair metal, but for those who can look past these criticisms this is just great fun! Singer Phil Lewis is an excellent and very likable vocalist who, although he arguably isn't as great as AC/DC's, for example, still gets the job done. L.A. Guns aren't bothered with trying to be the most politically aware or thought-provoking group on the planet, so it's at least good that every song here makes for a great and energetic hard rock album (minus the slow-natured "The Ballad Of Jayne"). Every song is good or great, and, although none are necessarily memorable, they're all fun to listen to while you're playing it. The lyrics, like I said, aren't intelligent at all, but they're catchy and fun - in this genre that's half the battle. Musically it's pretty standard hard rock, but they deliver in terms of catchy, fun and energetic rock songs. The musicianship, though derivative, is still really really good. This may not be music that everyone will like, but if you love hair metal then "Cocked & Loaded" is one of the best albums you can buy! Highly recommended!Highlights include:the entire album!

Cocked & Loaded
Sometimes bands just hit the motherload of success with a CD and are never able to reach those heights again. I think that LA Guns and Hollywood Vampire, the CDs released on either side of this one, are just as good in many ways, but neither had a hit the size of The Ballad of Jayne. That song enabled this quite-worthy CD to reach platinum sales and gave the band some well-deserved attention and fame, albeit only for a relatively short period.

Amazing
Normally, I'll download an album, listen to it twice and then every subsequent time skip tracks I thought were kind of iffy. This entire album is killer, and I haven't felt the need to skip any tracks at all. L.A. Guns really did an awesome job with this. The bass and drums are on time, the leads are blistering, the melodies are original, and the vocals are solid. These guys are truly a talent to behold. Probably one of my favorite albums ever.

Yep it's good.
Widely considered LA Guns definitive album. If you liked the self titled and Hollywood Vampires, you will like this. Never Enough stands out as my favorite song.

One of the most, if not the most, solid rock records ever.
This is my first review on Amazon, thanks to this amazing album. Way to go L.A. Guns! This is one hell of a solid hard rock record, completely ROCK N' ROLL. Every song is great. Catchy and aggressive riffs and solos.Cocked & Loaded is one of the most well-written rock albums ever, hands down! It's criminally underrated.....a perfect album. I am so glad that I found this gem. How often is an album so completely perfect?
