Super easy to replace & my trunk works like new
I use this to replace the trunk latch on my 2016 malibu. Very simple to replace & works like it should. It responds with my key fob with no issues.

Does the job. No more blown trunk release fuses.
TLDR: Paint stripped in a few spots, not 100% convinced it's truly brand new. But, the part works fine.Full story:The trunk release in my Gen 8 Chevy Malibu stopped working. Initially a new fuse seemed to fix the failure to open, but before long, it failed again and got to the point where the fuse would blow every time I opened the trunk. I researched and found that when that happens, it's usually the actuator (this part) that is failing and drawing too much power. So, keep in mind, if you replace this actuator and the trunk still doesn't open, make sure you also replace the fuse. The part is a perfect match for the original, just without the GM logo. There was a part of the metal casing where the paint was a bit stripped off, which made me suspect this might be a return or otherwise "gently used." But, this could be from bad storage/handling. The functional/mechanical portion looked new and unused, so I gave it the benefit of the doubt and pressed on.I installed the part, put in one more fuse, and it's been in for several days now. I've opened the trunk numerous times already, and it hasn't blown any more trunk fuses. I have to slam the trunk a bit harder than before. This could be that the new latch isn't broken in yet. If it stays that way, I may grease it to prevent premature wear.Side note:When you pull off the fabric trunk liner, you will likely destroy one or more of the plastic fasteners (aka panel retainers) that hold it in place. Part# 963-058D universal fasteners fit perfectly in their place.

Perfect
It wasn't too hard to install and being as this was my first time doing this, that was very important. It's great being able to use my trunk again and NOT having had to spend hundreds of dollars at the dealer.

DID NOT WORK FOR ME
The installation was a seamless process; however, the trunk still would not open. I thought purchasing from here would be okay and cost-efficient, but I should’ve purchased from actually dealership.

Amazing
A lot cheaper then the part from the manufacturer and does the same job. You can't get just this part from the junk yard, we tired and why would you want to when it's so cheep here and does the job?!?! Thank you to my friend that had the idea to look on Amazon!
