SEM17203 Shale Classic Coat - 12 oz.

While this product is great, it does not have anywhere near the same coverage as a traditional spray paint. The pigment and resin is very minimal inside this product, likely to force you into applying multiple coats and preventing too thick of buildup. It took about double the amount of product as I anticipated, causing me to reorder midway through a job.

Had some scrapes around vents from when I took apart the dash (2004 Escalade) to replace a blend door actuator and saw where this was highly recommended. I had a terrible experience with this, similar to another review. Prepped area, taped around, short bursts of spray since it was not feasible to remove the entire dash (had to spray inside the cabin). This product caused the surrounding area to peel, therefore the more I touched up the more there was to touch up. Maybe this is great for seats and leather-like surfaces, but for vinyl-like paint it is a lesson in futility. Product just runs off touch-up area and bubbles surrounding intact surface. Expected something thicker - maybe like a caulk consistency.

I purchased this to repair scuffed dashboard along with another color as my car is 2 tone. These were the listed colors as per manufacturer. This completely made a mess of my dash. I first cleaned using their SEM cleaner and the scuff pads as recommended. Then I masked off an area, shook the can to death and sprayed some. Within a few seconds the original paint began to bubble up. Now the dash is a complete disaster and will require a complete stripping of the original paint. This product is absolutely not something you should ever buy. Plus the color was a poor match to the original. I so wish I had left the old scuffs alone.

I gave this to my detailer guy in conjunction with the SEM 39362 Soap and it did wonders to my really beatup seats on my Cadillac Escalade EXT. Had to buy 3 cans, and might consider going in for another coat just to make it shine even better, but the color was SPOT on and turned some really nasty seats into something I could show my visiting family. This was a used vehicle purchase originally owned by a couple military men on base followed by an owner with kids, so you probably will be able to get away with 2 cans.Strongly recommend you use the soap/spray combination with a real deep soap cleaning first to get all the basic grime and prep the area for the spray coloring.

1996 Cadillac Deville, one would never know there were touch-ups.I purchased a few to see if color lots matched. As I said in the headline, it's awesome.

I prepped the surface as instructed. I sprayed on the dye. Within 6 months the dye began peeling from my leather seats.

Color a stained car seat. Works great.

The color is a perfect match and applies very well, but if your seats are badly scarred but not ripped, then you will use up the whole can just for the bottom part like i did.. If you only have light to medium crack marks, then one can is good for one seat. I ended up using 3 cans for my front seats but hey, for $50 i ended up with 1 year old seats in my 2005 Escalade.I definitely recommend this spray for Cadillac Shale seat refinishing.
