The Golden Tower (Magisterium #5) (5)

Great Series for Readers of All Ages
This is a wonderful series because it is fast-paced and funny while showing the harsh reality that sometimes people are put in difficult situations where they have to make hard decisions about right and wrong. All of the major characters are interestingly flawed and there is a decent representation of diversity amongst the cast in terms of race and romantic orientation. Most of the plot twists are easy for adults to predict, but young readers will be surprised and adults can appreciate the accurate portrayal of late childhood / early adolescence. I recommend this series to people of all ages if they are fans of magic and snarky humor!

Captivating conclusion to a magical series
The Magisterium series weaves an enchanting tale of magic, adventure, friendship, and self-discovery. Call must evolve from an angsty teenager full of self-doubt to a perceptive, confident young man, all while battling the forces of evil and corruption- needless to say, I was hooked from book 1! The Golden Tower comprises a satisfying culmination to a fantastic series, while offering enough doubt and intrigue, due to a slight cliff-hanger ending, to keep you hopeful for more.

Well written...well told.
So much fun. I read it straight through except for stopping now and then to let the dogs out. Great characters. Magic and chaos abound in this series. Friendships and villains abounded. I hope the story continues. I'd love to go to college with these kids. Very fast paced and such a good story.

A good preteen series
This is a simple series with a good storyline. An easy escape book with a straightforward, good vs evil plot.

Wonderful Conclusion...or is it!!
What a wonderful conclusion to the Magisterium series!! I truly believe this wrapped up so well and I couldn't be happier. Even though this is a middle grade series I loved that it went a little darker. Dealing with dark topics and the such. I think it gives a great depth and perception to the young audience that middle grade is geared to, that life is not always rainbows and butterflies, and that it truly can be challenging. However with that being said it also teaches us that no matter what situation in life is dragging you down, there will always be a light at the end of the tunnel. Now that I got that little spiel out of the way, let's proceed with a actual review. The Golden Tower picks up a year later and action ensues almost instantly. The stories and plot to this entire series are always quick and to the point. Their were some great plot moments in this final book and some great character moments as well. There was one part in the book where I kind of predicted what was going to happen next but in my head I was hoping it wouldn't happen. This is made for a younger audience so it's harder for them to pick out what is what, but I still find it enjoyable regardless when my theories come true. With this being a final book, I am sad to see this story end but I am hopeful that Cassandra Clare and Holly Black will revisit this world in the future. The Iron Trial-5/5The Copper Gauntlet-5/5The Bronze Key-5/5The Silver Mask-5/5The Golden Tower-5/5Magisterium-25/25

A happy ending, and I’m still sad.
I wish there was so much more, like a book for the collegium. I’m really hoping there’s one in the making, because I’d buy it immediately. I love this series, I want to look forward to a collegium book as well. Thank you for helping me fall asleep at night.

Fun to read
This book is an easy read yet very enjoyable. I like to read books before I let my kids read them so we can discuss the book while my girls are reading them. Cassandra Claire and Holly Blacks writing is so fun and creative that’ll keep you on your toes till the very end.

The end
Seriously though I would sincerely like to ask the authors for one more book to answer the questions that popped up in this book that were floated about from book 3 up until the end. Start this series with Book 1, you won’t be disappointed at all.I read this as a way to get my 10 yr old daughter to read and we both loved it! Her big sister had read the first book years ago and unfortunately didn’t pick up the series. Now that we’ve read it, she’s heading back in and proud she recommended a great series to her bookworm Mom. She also is a huge fan of Cassandra Clare already.

The end
I had high expectations for this book, and honestly? I was so afraid of what would happen in the end. We have nowhere else to go, finally at the end of the story, we could see one more time Call, Tamara and Aaron together. I cannot describe how happy I felt when I saw that Call's plan worked! It's amazing to have Aaron back for good. Alex annoyed me the whole book, when he finally died I was satisfied. Master Rufus was a great character and I like him. Warren is a not so mall lizard with much to say, he was a good addition to the story. I still can't believe that Call's dad became one of the devoured, this was heroic and sad at the same time. As for Call and Tamara's relationship, they are adorable and I love them together. Jasper finally having another love interest and they all being friends was delightful. I enjoyed seeing them together in that journey. Finally discovering who Call really was, truly surprised me. I wasn't expecting what happened. I already miss the Magisterium universe so much! Great characters and amazing story. I will keep it in my heart as one of my favorites.

Fun read!
This was the last book in the magisterium series and it's weird that it's over! I really liked living in this world and seeing the characters grow! The ending was also really nice.I suspected pretty quickly what would happen and I'm glad I was right. Although there are also a few things I did not expect at all!Definitely a fun series especially if you like Harry Potter!
