Great for making Mexican candy

used it for candied chamoy and the taste is spectacular

Needs more concentrate, it's mostly sugar with a faint flavoring

This drink mix tastes similar to the freshly made drink in terms of its tartness, but it has a hard edge to it that I can only attribute to the artificial flavoring. Overall, I didn't enjoy it and wouldn't recommend. Fresh is best, as usual.

I purchase this locally at WalMart so my review will only focus on the mix and not address price or shipping.This is delicious, especially if you love the tart/sour flavor of tamarinds. I acquired a taste for tamarinds when I lived in the Philippines and through many visits to Thailand. In those places they were used for cooking, but this agua fresca from Mexico uses them in a refreshing drink.What I love is the relatively low calorie count for such a sweet drink: 60 per a single tablespoon that is mixed in eight ounces of water. The contrast of sweet from the thirteen grams of sugar (cane sugar and dextrose) against the tart/sour taste of the tamarind is interesting. In fact it's a perfect balance to two main elements of the flavor profile to my palate. Nutritionally there are no other numbers of concern - everything is so nominal that they register as zero (sodium, cholesterol, etc.); a plus is a serving contains ten percent of recommended daily values for vitamin C.Another thing I love is this drink, once mixed, actually has pulp. And mixing it is easy because it dissolves and blends into water with little effort. If you like a touch of sour this is a perfect drink and one of the more refreshing aguas frescas I have tried on a hot and humid day.

I fell in love with this in Roatan. It could be a little heavier on the tamarind taste, and a little less sugar, but I am not complaining. It's a staple in my closet now.

Trashed it! Has wayyyyy to much sugar and barely any tamarindo flavor. Taste like sugar water ! Yum!
