Honey-Can-Do Bamboo Wicker Laundry Hamper with Removable Canvas Bag HMP-01620 Natural, 25-Inches Tall

There are some absolutely terrifying reviews of this product here on Amazon, suggesting that the product is defective or hard to assemble. I'll admit it gave me some pause in ordering this hamper, but the price was right and Amazon has an amazing return policy, so I figured I'd see if it worked for me. Don't believe those reviews for for a minute: I bought two of these (to sit side-by-side and save me from sorting on laundry day), and I assembled them both in no more than twenty minutes. No tools are required, and all pieces fit together easily for me. I did take care to ensure that the frame was assembled tightly, but that just seems, you know, common sense? Virtually every negative review INCORRECTLY attempted to fit the plastic frame within the cloth lining bag. They failed to follow the directions: the frame sits INSIDE the wicker-sided outer bag, and the cloth lining bag then fits inside the frame, within the wicker-side outer bag. To be fair, while I think the written directions are easy to follow, the PICTURES are possibly a little confusing. That said, if you can't be troubled to read, I suppose it serves you right that you fail to assemble this properly. One other note: this obviously is a value priced item, but, pre-assembly, the individual pieces are incredibly cheap seeming to me, particularly the plastic frame. Once assembled, however, with the plastic frame concealed by the outer layers, the hamper does look very nice and seems perfectly sturdy. Overall, this is a nice-looking, good-sized, and (I thought) easy-to-assemble hamper at a value price. Absolutely no complaints from me.

This review is for the square wicker hamper.... this is a great little hamper for the price. We found the assembly to be super fast and easy so I am not sure what all the negative comments are about that. Yes, the connectors are plastic but they are heavy duty. You do have to make sure you completely insert the poles into the connectors but this is easily done by pressing each end down into the floor once you have the frame assembled to ensure they have slid all the way in. Once done and the frame is square it will easily slide it down into the bamboo shell. I did have my husband available to help to make sure the corners stayed open and even as we inserted the frame but overall set up was simple and took less than 10 minutes. The removable liner is great as you can pull out your laundry, sling it over your shoulder and carry it off to your washer. Small compact size holds quite a bit of laundry and looks neat and clean. Planning to purchase 2 more for my mom.

I'm super happy with the quality of this laundry hamper. The bamboo is all really nicely joined together with the sewing or however it's done and looks very high end and done with care with no frays or anything anywhere. The frame fit together absolutely perfectly and it was really nice to see good quality powder-coating and nice quality plastic joints. These little touches show the extra care that went into making this a good quality product as opposed to being the cheapest of the cheap. The bamboo sleeve I guess you'd call it; fit snugly but easily over the frame, provided you take it slow and go bit-by-bit. The linen is very nice quality too and I love that its easily removable too with the drawstring so you can chuck it into the wash if it gets dirty. Overall, super nice product and I'm really impressed with the quality for the price 🙂

My hamper will be three years old in March of this year (2020). One the whole, I really like this hamper. It is attractive and easy to use. Putting it together was really not a problem as long as one reads the directions and puts the metal rods/bars in correctly. My major complaint is that the canvas bag will not stay put. No matter how tight I attempt to tie the draw string, the bag falls off. Once we put some towels in it, the bag comes right off the bars and falls to the floor., which is a royal pain having to bend into the hamper and drag dirty clothes out of it rather than lifting the canvas bag up and out. Now, I admit to washing the canvas bag because, after all, with dirty clothes in it all the time, it does get dirty. It shrunk immediately; too bad the canvas bag is not made over-sized. Now, it hangs about 1.5" off the floor, so it is no wonder that any sort of heavy laundry pulls it off. The size of the bag is my only complaint, but I sure wish the manufacturers would fix the problem. What I will probably do is find some cotton canvas, cut the bottom off the current canvas bag, and add additional material to make the bag longer. I shouldn't have to do this, but that's life. Overall, not a horrible price for the hamper.

I have 3 of these hampers in my home. I think they look great and love that you can remove the lining to wash. They hold more than my previous hampers did. And so far the frame seems sturdy and durable. There is a bit of a wood/plant smell when they come out, but it fades away. **Easy assembly tip!** I also had the same struggle as other reviewers (getting the pipes all the way into the plastic corner attachments). Best way to assemble IMO is to build the bottom square first. Then use your body weight to lean onto the corners top-down to get the pipes pushed in all the way. Keep rotating the frame to get all the corners from all directions. Place the bottom square into the hamper sleeve (will still be a tight fit), THEN finish building the frame. Repeat leaning onto all corners from all directions until none of the pipes budge.

After looking for decent looking (non-utilitarian) hampers for quite some time I decided to give this a try. I also purchased the corner version of this hamper. They are relatively inexpensive (who in their right mind pays close to $100 for a hamper!?) so I figured no harm done if they are kind of junky. But they aren't! I am impressed with these little hampers! They look nice, not cheap. They are solid enough though I wouldn't lean on it or anything. The frame was a little tough to get into the outside of the hamper, but not too bad. They hold about a week's worth of laundry. I love them and they suit my needs perfectly.

We bought one of these to try and it's worked really well for our family. It looks nice and we can fit a good amount of clothing into it. I will probably buy two more so we can sort laundry at the hamper stage. The canvas liner/bag is a good quality, medium weight canvas with a drawstring. The liner is kept in place by folding it over the sides at the top and does tend to slip down into the hamper when my kids cram their clothes into it. While a fastener could probably alleviate that problem, it's nice that there isn't velcro, which tends to snap and ruin certain fabrics. One unexpected "negative:" our cats like to try and scratch at it because the bamboo is very inviting -- despite this, the bamboo doesn't look raggedy at all, so it's holding up!

I'm not sure what people were saying about it being difficult to assemble, but it was a piece of cake. Didn't even need instructions, though there are some on the back of the picture when you get the package. When you put the rods together you just need to make sure they pop into place, and the metal frame will slide right into the bamboo sleeve. Assembled it by myself and it took no more than 5 minutes. The bamboo sleeve also has some canvas on the top that velcro's around the metal frame to keep the sleeve in place. The canvas bag fits perfectly inside. I haven't put laundry in it yet, but I'm sure it will get the job done. Considering my extensive search for well price wooden/woven laundry hampers, this one by far take the cake. Durable, cute, sturdy, washable canvas bag. You can stop your search because you aren't going to find anything better (at the price point).

No es para nada como la foto, ni tiene buena calidad. Solo es de bambú de la parte de frente y la trasera, lo demás es de tela y tiene unos soportes de metales que le dan la forma pero hacen que se desbalancee. No dan buen soporte. Muy decepcionada. Aparte que es chino y el bambú huele raro como a resistol.

I like the look but parts of it look dirty (dark spots that don't look natural) and there's some fraying of the bamboo already and I just got it. Not sure on the quality or if mine has defects... I like the overall look but there are faults.

I am less than pleased with the cost of this because the hamper arrived with holes in it. So apparently they couldn't even finish sewing it properly before shipping it away. Again too much, not cool

I have had this wicker basket for over a year now and it is still holding up fairly well. I wash the cotton insert every week and so far it is not showing signs of wear.

Does exactly what it is for, fits most small places.
