The instructions on how to get it setup are very unclear. I couldn't get it to work for the life of me. But thankfully the internet is your best friend. And after wasting hours of my day. The steps were actually really easy and simple. Step one open windows 10 folder that's on the disk and install the software. Step two install the drivers. Step 3 in device manager, on the ports list of devices find the one that has USB in it go properties, then advanced change the port to com1 and change latency to 1ms. And voila. Works. Flawlessly. Of course I still had to go on YouTube to figure out how to use the software specifically for what I needed it to do. But that's a given. My biggest issue was the fact that the instructions were very unclear and caused me to lose hours of my day trying to just get it to work right.

Works great on Windows 7 after figuring out how to configure it. Install it as the file says, make sure commuication port is set to 1 and latency is 1. Search for Ediabas.ini and edit it to "Interface = STD:OBD" and that your interface is equipped to detect an ignition signal. Both should be in that file. Afterwards it may error with box just click it off. Mine went away. The value of something needed to be edited.

I have the check engine light P2096.. and an R56.. I need to clear the error code... My laptop is a Windows 10 but I need the digital files.. what are the instructions to install for windows 10 and remove check engine light??

Works on windows 11. You have to get the driver from ftdichip website. Just Google "ftdichip FT232RQ drivers," once you open the webpage you'll click the link for D2XX. Get the VCP driver or launch the installer. Done. Also if you're looking for an up to date NCS expert and other needed software, get it from bimmergeeks.I spent 4 days trying to figure out how to use everything, but now that I know it's simple.

Bought this cable to do some tuning on my 2002 BMW 325ci (ms43 tunes) and also to pull codes and other functions on my 2010 BMW 328i. The cable and software has worked flawlessly, install was pretty straightforward if you have basic computer knowledge. I have no complaints as it has done everything it’s advertised to do and soo much more… I was super excited to realize it has the FTDI chip which was able to work with BMW Explorer, and a few other apps. No I’m not paid to leave a review and am doing so on my own accord.

This cleared my code P2096 on my Mini Cooper. I couldn't find a device that specifically mentioned an R50, but I took a chance on this one. It has been the only device that would do it. Follow the instructions in the INPA folder on the CD, they are called InpaCANinstall. It wasn't overly complicated. Make sure that you run INPA in compatibility mode for Windows XP if you are running Windows 10. On the cable I had the slider switch moved clear to the right and it worked great.

Can't seem to get it to work . I'm taking it to a professional this weekend but if a normal person can't seem to get the complex vague instructions right what's the point . Quality of cable seems great and the software loads but it will not connect to my car . You gotta do some wonky stuff and it's way more difficult then other programs I've installed . I'm not a hacker by far but you will need to be way smarter then me to figure this out. It has been said that there are install videos but I couldn't find one that would get me any further then I got by reading the instructions on the disk. If I can get it working and I can re code my e39 abs I'll be thrilled and raise it to 4 stars but I can't give a product a five star review if I need a pro to install it.

Had some problems with error messages while using the software but I was able to do what I needed to do. That's all that matters to me!

if you plan on purchasing this product, know that you will have to download the software from the internet. The software is too difficult to navigate and a lot of the instructions are in Deutsch. Only purchase this if you only need the DCAN K+ cable.

I was able to use it a few times before I almost burnt my car to the ground. is this a warranty issue?

This was to replace a different "cheap" kdcan cable I bought. This worked straight away, no problem. I already had INPA and ISTA+ installed previously and both work using this cable.

It worked with my windows 10 INPA AND BMW

This product did not work. No files will open on the disk. Can't even try to install. Two different computers and three different disk drives.

So far so good. Works great on 2010 BMW 335i

No instructions provided on how to download information from CD. Unable to use this product.
