Works great!
The media could not be loaded. I service pool tables for a living, and over the years, they get a lot of glue built up from gluing down the cloth. This blade works great for removing that built up glue from the edge of the slate. It sames me a ton of time I used to spend scraping by hand. Love it!

cuts roofing shingles fast, durable
I needed to recut a roof/wall intersection in some old architectural shingles. Two roof/wall transitions, I did the first one with a simple saw blade in the oscillating tool. It took a while and I worried a little that I would cut the step flashing (though it's galvanized). All of the teeth were worn off on the first shingle and cutting 10' of valley took 1/2" off length of the blade. That wall took an hour or so.So, I bought this blade for the other side. Wow, 10x as fast. Slices right through the shingles, asphalt, fiberglass and sand. I did pretty good at lifting just as I came to the bottom of each step (cutting up - trust me) but when I did catch a step, this blade would not cut it at all. I'm confident that I did not damage the flashing in this little adventure. Got that side cut in 10 minutes. The blade appears to have not worn down at all.I also tried this blade on some cardboard since it says it's for 'soft materials'. Cuts cardboard like buttah.I will say though - you want to know where your fingers are when using this particular blade.

Razor knife still works better
Was hoping this would work well. It does cut carpet but it is still easier to use a razor knife. I have used it for cutting up a stack of card board, but not what I bought it for.

These things work!
Will never roof without them. Makes trimming edges and around jacks super easy.

It doesn't have teeth like a regular saw but a serrated knife edge
The blade on this tool is sharpened in a manner similar to that on a bread knife. It doesn't have teeth like a regular saw but a serrated knife edge. The serrations make it only suitable for rough cuts, but that's all this blade is intended for. The serrations greatly increase the life and durability of this blade. So far I've used this blade to cut insulation and to break down heavy cardboard that would have taken half a dozen cuts with a box cutter to break through; with this blade it goes through it in one pass like butter. The depth of cut with this blade measures about 1 3/16ths, or about 30mm.If you're not familiar with Starlock blades, they are a quick-release mount blade primarily designed to be used on Starlock mount tools. However you can use these blades on most other non Starlock oscillating tools. Some tools may require an adapter which Bosch sells. If you buy an oscillating tool that has a Starlock mount please note you can only use Starlock blades, you will not be able to use your non Starlock blades on a Starlock tool. If you currently own a non Starlock oscillating tool and plan to buy a Starlock tool at some point in the future, then you might want to consider buying Starlock blades for your current tool, that way you can still use them later on when you buy a Starlock mount equipped tool.

This might be the best use for an oscillating tool
I only had a two-square roof to do on a shed, but I was concerned about cutting overhanging architectural shingles easily; this tool made it EASY and neat. It also made cutting out the slot for a ridge vent EASY and neat. If you're on a ladder, you can wield your oscillating tool one-handed, and not worry about your ability to pull/push the tool like you would with a hook knife. This blade just carves up shingles, letting you fine tune the shape and easily smooth out uneven cuts. I do a lot of work on fiberglass boats, where the oscillating tool constantly comes out, but with this blade, cutting shingles might actually be the best use for an oscillating tool I've found. The only minor downside is that after cutting maybe 30-40 linear feet of architectural shingles, the blade is pretty worn and is cutting slower. I think it could be easily sharpened a few times however. So, this probably isn't the right tool if you're a pro and you shingle a roof every day, but for a home-gamer, especially if you're new to this and want the best chance of a good outcome, this tool rules.
