Jillian Michaels Killer Abs

not so sure re the abs
Well, I gave this 5 stars because it's a good exercise dvd and JM is wonderful as always. But not necessarily a hard abs dvd, not in the same league as some of her other dvd's. She seems to have softened up here, there wasn't the hard push and the growling at you like there is in Ripped. I prefer to be worked hard and shouted at I guess LOL. I tried levels one and two together today. I stopped level one half way through because it was too easy/boring, nothing was hurting. Level 2 was better. For me there are a lot of exercises that work abs and lower back, where you are lying on your back with your legs hovering just above the floor. I have a very weak lower back and so find a lot of these painful and not for the right reasons. But that's my particular problem and not an indictment of the dvd.I LOVE JM though and have loads of her dvd's. I think she's brilliant and motivating For me personally this dvd has been a challenge because of the type of exercises not because it is vey hard. I never once felt " I can't do this" or "this really hurt" because it didn't. It hurt my back, whereas in say ripped in 30 and NMTZ I can do all of those, feel like I've worked hard and am exhausted without my back hurting.I like the fact that the arms are worked a lot in this too and that there is some decent cardio.I suppose it will add to the library and give an extra dimension and I will use much heavier weights and ankle weights to crank it up a bit..I wish though that some of the exercises in the set were done for longer, I think they would be harder and more results would come if you had to push it for longer.. I never got to that " OMG I can't take it any more" stage, that I have still with some of her others. I don't know, maybe this isn't that easy, maybe I'm just fitter!! We'll see what level 3 brings.UPDATEok I did level 3 today. It was tough going, alot of the moves required real coordination, so I was trying to work out where the heck to put my arms and legs at all, let alone concentrating on form. It was tough going but not on the abs!! I would say levels 2 and 3 were tougher on my arms than on my abs. It was quite cardio intensive and reminded me more of ripped in 30. All in all it's a very strange dvd. I wouldn't recommend it as an ab dvd but perhaps as an overall fitness dvd. I much prefer the NMTZ ab sections and level 1 of 6 week 6 pack.

Great ab workout!
So I have been faithfully doing 6 Week 6 Pack alternating 30 day shred for about 5 months and have lost 20 lbs and my stomach looks better than ever! I actually have an outline of abs (and I have three young kiddos) When I saw her new video Killer Abs I was excited but slightly worried it wouldn't live up to my love of 6W6P especially level 2. It is actually a very good ab workout! I did level 1 first and I was able to do all of the advanced moves. I was winded but not dripping with sweat like after 6W6P and 30 Day Shred. But I woke up this morning and my entire stomach was so sore! I love that! So I just did level 2, and I have to say it is tough. I was able to do all the advanced versions but wow, you need to have a decent core already before attempting some of these moves. I can feel my lower back aching a bit so maybe I should have done some of the easier versions. You should watch the video before doing it as some of the moves are confusing, but I like that Jillian doesn't waste time demonstrating or explaining the moves because once you get them down, do you really want to hear the same instructions every time you put this video on? I sure don't!Pros: Really works your core I didn't get bored I enjoyed the combination of moves~Jillian is great at working the most muscles as possible in one move! The moves are difficult but you can always make it easier by following the beginner version Abs sore the following day Only about 30 minutes which is great for busy schedules There isn't a whole lot of conversations or chatter between the girls and Jillian which in other videos gets old after the umpteenth time doing them.Cons: The moves change fast which can be confusing You are kinda all over the place with this one...one move you are on the mat, then you are up, then down There could be more cardio intervals You really need a good core before beginning this video. But with saying that, if you start level 1 beginner version and work your way up then how satisfying is that!I am enjoying the new addition to my videos but I will continue alternating 6W6P and 30 Day Shred cause I feel like those provide my cardio. I think if you just did this video alone, you really would need to incorporate some sort of cardio with it. Excited to do level 3...I watched it and it looks like painful challenging fun!
