It’s not particularly challenging to unlock and has a nice pop, it’s a little small and for those buying it for security, it is a level above your average master lock. IPU ranks it Yellow instead of White

Great lock for practicing lock picking. Harder to pick than masterlocks but not insane like Burg Wacther.

I bought this for r/lockpicking on reddit. Picking this got me my orange belt. I will say this, from what I have been learning about locks lately, these Abus locks are a few steps above any of the ones you buy in the hardware store.

I bought this lock for lock sport and was expecting a small 4 pin tumbler padlock that would provide some resistance to picking so I could get some practice picking smaller keyways.I can personally only feel 3 pins in the lock and it looks like it only has 3 cuts on the key I'm still new to lock picking so maybe I'm mistaken but that's my take. I received the lock this morning and decided to play around with it before leaving for work, it took me a minute and a half to peel the tape off the small box and rip it open then took me about 45 seconds to single pin pick it. Starting from back to front I set the third pin and my pick also set pin one and two and I got an open next I picked front to rear and it was pin 1,2,3 open.The lock provides very little pick resistance, it is not shielded against bypassing, the shackle is thin so it could be cut with many different tools with minimal effort and it uses standard locking bars not bearings so it can be shimmed with a pop can.This is not a secure lock and should not be used to secure anything valuable it is vulnerable to all types of attack, due to ease of picking I cannot recommend this as a training lock unless you are struggling with the basics still. The only practical use I see for this lock is a tamper seal of sorts for a book bag even then I'd recommend something higher security.The only good thing the lock does have is a good overall build quality at the end of the day the core is well fitted in the body the lock provides good feedback and it functions smoothly with the key.I would look at other abus options that offer better security, both for use as a lock and lock sport training.

4 pins lock. it has security pins in it. can be picked within a minute.buy it for lock picking practice not to protect valuables.
