I am happy with our purchase of the Lenovo IdeaPad Notebook laptops I got for the kids. They're happy with them too. One of my kids is using it for FLVS (Florida Virtual Schools) classes.

Firstly-- this review is not a verified purchase because it was given to me as a graduation gift. I did not buy it. Here is my story.So I am a poor student. I had just graduated and received this as a gift. It was a good thing, because I was going off to University with no money. And Universities these days are almost completely dependent on students owning laptops. If you don't own a laptop during university, tough luck. I think that is terrible, but that's how our education system is in the USA. Anywho, so thankfully I got this as a present. I was very grateful. However I quickly noticed that the computer was incredibly slow--even though it was BRAND NEW right out of the box. I had made sure it was brand new, and it was. This computer, as much as it let me go on basic websites that i needed for school, has always been a hassle. It's cheap. I understand. But if you want to buy this for your grandchild--think again. There are other laptops from HP, Dell, and ASUS that work way better at the same price as Lenovo. DO NOT BUY LENOVO. For the price it does the bare minimum. Has many defects, crashes and gets overloaded easily. It's just caused so many head aches. I have lashed out on this computer because it had crashed on me and did not save precious documents--and that's no good. There was another defect it had where basically, when you charge your laptop and attempt to use it--it would freeze--the whole computer would just freeze and not work--and despite whatever work your doing you've got to lose it all by turning off and turning on the computer with the keys. Another thing: this is incredibly heavy and clunky--it was by far something that caused back pain because I would put it in my backpack. Honestly, it's not versatile. You can't really take it anywhere without causing a scene or without needing a huge bag to take the weight off your shoulders. Please, invest in a better computer. This ones not so great.
