Funny and sad
A story about an abused 14 year old boy who is just trying to survive and ask out the girl of his dreams. At first I thought at the author was trying too hard to be funny, but the book did manage to make me laugh a few times, and cry as well. It was a good story. Every character had a purpose, it was well written, and there were good life lessons learned.

An amazing read....
Every year I pick a book out to give to people for Christmas - and this is the one for this year. I was amazed at what I read and in fact - read it twice over the span of a day - just to let it sink in, to immerse myself in the images created and to figure out where it was going... and how it was getting there. There are so many angles to this story - the voices that he hears in his head - that sometimes escape with consequences no one can imagine. The man who would be his step father - who he believes his mother would choose over him - only to find out later - almost too late - that he didn't know his mom as well as he thought he did and that she just might know him - the real him - after all. The girl who admires him from a far and finally has the courage to ask him out - setting into motion the beginning of the end of the story. The band teacher who can see beyond what is there.. and in the end rescues the boy. And then the boy - who you can see fall apart only to reject ways of falling totally off the edge - to attempt to rescue himself and ultimately doing just that. It's a thought provoking book.. That I can't wait to share with my friends and family.

Pretty good aye?
k so 'You don't know me' is this awesome book about a kid who gets abused by his step father, but don't worry he gets his moment to shine! The main character is this tortured, tormented, funny, clever, talented kid who is, obviously, going through a hard time. The book is written in first person and described Johns (main character) thoughts, dreams and yeah thats pretty much it. Though this book may prove too dark for some, for others (like me), its one of those few real stories that only pop up like once every thousand years that you just have to read in order to see how freaking awesome it is! So yeh, thats my review...by the way this sellers pretty good too. Well, as far as I can tell, after all I got my book on time. LOVED THE BOOK GIVE IT A TRY YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

Unique and moving
The first couple of chapters are aggressive and a little confusing ~ but then everything settles in and the brilliant and original storytelling begins through the eyes of a struggling and detached young man who has to fight hard through tough challenges. John's voice, his coping mechanisms and his way of thinking was riveting and unique, and I was hooked and read it all in one sitting.

My favorite book since High school
I love this book because of the main character and the author has unique writing style. The first few pages might confuse you but you get hang of it. Its fun to read and has bit drama. The main character has big imagination and yet I can some how relate to him in real level. Once you understand how main character minds work everything will flow easily. The book is about boy who struggle with society in school and at home. There's so much to say but I won't spoil it.

Unique Style
David Klass does it right with this novel for Young Adults. His main character is unique and sometimes hard to follow, but it is hard to keep from liking John. John's voice makes this a great novel.John looks at the world around him and believes everything is make believe except for his life of hell that exists at home. John has friends, but he is essentially alone in the world and no one seems to notice or care. The novel starts out with John saying "You don't know me." By the end of the novel, we all know John really well, and whether a person would want to hang out with John or not, it is impossible not to like John.Nice job, David Klass.

Las condiciones del libro eran malas
Las condiciones del libro eran malas, tenía algunas hojas estropeadas. A pesar de ello el libro es bastante interesante para adolescentes con un nivel inicial de inglés.
