Very nice finishing touch
Didn’t know this existed until I saw a YouTube video. Since the garage is finished out I wasn’t too excited about surface mouting the SPD. This kit allows me to cut a hole in drywall to allow the SPD to sit flush and look nice.

very expensive but very well made
Im using this for my recessed panel installation. Yes, this is a very expensive plate BUT it is well made comes with hardware and can be used to mount the FS directly to drywall if you cannot mount directly to the load center knock outs you need some drywall anchors for that but thats easy. This plate has about an inch on each side to allow wiggle room on the cut, the protector mounts securely to the plate so..... it is expensive but unless you're going to make your own, it seems worth buying to have a good neat looking recessed installation.

Overpriced & more
Bought one, arrived with none of the standoffs or screws. Returned it (love the Amazon return policy) to buy another. Arrived with the standoffs but not all the screws. I'll find the missing screw on my own.Why one star? Lost one star (from 5) for such poor packaging that parts can fall out. Lost one for parts actually falling out on two different orders. Lost one for being the most overpriced but otherwise mostly unobtainable item (yes, I know there is a machinist who makes a copy, but his isn't cheap either). Lost the last one because when you tighten the plate down on the SPD it causes the plate to bulge in the middle, looking like you didn't install it right. If you buy one, probably should have some washers on hand to shim the standoffs so the plate sits flat -- shouldn't have to do that at this price point.BTW, I believe this is the lowest product rating I've provided in years, if ever, on Amazon -- just so you know I'm not one of those folk who complain about everything they buy online.

Expensive but saved installation time/effort
As others have said the pricing is insane. However my electrician felt it was be less time to install surge protector with plate. Also would not require wood bracing, drywall repair and paint. So saved labor cost and makes for much much cleaner look than surface mount.

Neat concept but…..
Neat concept but the plate is super expensive for what it is and should be closer to $30 and it doesn’t sit flush on the wall. It has a slight bump/bow when it’s fastened to SPD.It works though.

Recommended by. NASA PhD researcher.
I purchased this for a new home build that I’d like to harden against lightening and EMP strikes. It was highly recommended by my consultant, an expert in these issues. See DisasterPreparer.com.That, the Siemens name, and the fault indicator lights closed the deal. Nothing is fool proof, but I suspect this is good as it gets.

Fit and Finish
I used this 'wall plate' to mount the Surge Protector next to the Breaker Panel located inside our laundry room. I liked it because it was a 'flush mount' and most importantly, the 'inside' holes fit the surge protector exactly.

Didn't need it
While I purchased it thinking the electrician may need it, he stated it was overpriced for a simple aluminum frame and standoffs. He had one much better and far cheaper.
