Great investment!
I bought the Clie SJ22 (uses Palm OS 4.1) so I could install a bible reader, bible translations and reference materials and read and study wherever I go. To have so much power in such a compact size makes it the perfect tool for carrying reading material when you are away from the comforts of home. The 15 megabytes of available memory provide enough room for several translations, reference books and a very large address book. With the addition of a memory stick... well, there are a ton of apps out there and many are free. Replacement batteries are also available here on Amazon.com if you should need one DekCell PDA Battery for Sony Clie PEG-SJ20, SJ22, SJ23, SJ30, SJ30/G, SJ30/GW.... The display is sharp, clear, well lit and therefore easy to read. I highly recommend it.The only con that I can think of... not all memory sticks will work with this unit. Any memory stick over 128MB is not compatible. Still, they are available online and that's more than enough memory for whatever you might want to do.

stupid shipper
there was supposed to be software, a memory stick, and a charging cradle included. none of these arrived. what good does it do to get the PDA with these items.

Old Technology but great on the computer
I have used the calender for years and thought the hand held would be even better but could not get it to work. Still trying and I think it is good but old technology

Nice unit but a few major drawbacks
I have had my unit for a few years, and I like it in many ways, but it has a bad habit of letting me down:- With the flip top, in my purse, the application/power switches can be depressed and it apparently powers on. This runs down the batteries, and- All memory is lost.I've taken to using the Palm calendar and directory in my laptop and not the PDA... pity...

Good PDA but not worth buying now.
The major pro's are,1. Average price and still good build quality.2. Looks good, small size, light weight and a very nice flip cover included.3. Jog dial, 15MB RAM and memory stick expansion slot.4. HiRes color display and very good backlight.5. 7 hrs of battery life on a single charge with backlight on all the time.6. Runs Palm OS 4 which has zillion free apps available and is very easy to use unlike Windows based PDA's.Con's,1. The color LCD isn't put to much use in Palm OS 4.2. No other fun stuff like mp3.3. Uses a Lithium Ion battery and Sony sells no replacements for it. Might be an issue in 18 months time.4. No documents-to-go like in previous SJ's.5. Soon to be discontinued and replaced by a newer model by Sony.In short if you can wait for till Sept/Oct a lot many new PDA's should come out with Palm OS 5 and better features at same price point. SJ20 is better option since its below hundred after rebate now and there's harldy any difference between SJ20 & SJ22.

It was trash in 13 months due to poor cable connections
Pretty much shopping for a new PDA now cause this one no longer consistently charges when plugged into the charger. Seems like pretty poor cable connections for this to be an issue so early, I'm used to the touchscreens wearing out after a few years.Otherwise just fine, but without power, it's no use to anyone.Luckily the office owns this one.
