I loved it
I see why ppl didn’t like the ending, but i enjoyed watching the og version and comparing it to the others. The storyline is very addicting, hence why i bought the dvd in the first place. *note it is region locked but my device lets me switch between regions a few times so keep that in mind or just buy a region 2 capable device*

Fantastic
I purchased this back in February as I was looking for something different than I normally watch. I usually watch Finnish tv programs and films so I decided to buy this as subtitles have never been an issue. This was fantastic from beginning to the end and keeps the viewer on the edge of their seats with all the twists and turns that goes on. It can be very violent in parts but it needs to be with what the story is about. All the cast was brilliant throughout and the two boys have promising careers a head of them.I ended up been binge watching the last three episodes because I wanted to know how it all ends. The only disappointment that I had was when the last episode was watched but I know that I will watch it again and they say with a second watch you notice more. The best thing to do is watch in its original language because remakes and dubbing can get lost in translation so to speak.Amazon needs to bring more Norwegian TV shows on DVD to buy on here then my Norwegian collection can carry on.

Very watchable thriller, not to be missed
This was a very good series in that the plot was not too complex and subtitles were easy to follow. So often a really complicated plot in foreign films, though perhaps very good can often be spoilt by simultaneously trying to read long narrative whilst following the action. The characters were well cast and unlike our cousins from "across the pond" , it is nice to see actors who look credible, and not looking like they have stepped off a fashion shoot. I was initially concerned that the relationship between the two boys was going to just be included to "spice" up the story and play no real part, but this was handled well and created a clever and believable dilemma which contributed to the plot. For those who love the genre of "Nordic Noir" you will not be disappointed. It is not up there with the likes of "The Bridge" or "The Killing", and having been used to a lot of Danish series, the Norwegian dialect takes a bit of getting used to ( they speak a little faster ), but a really enjoyable series to fill the long winter evenings.

Eyewitness DVD
I love this series. I previously watched it on some streaming channel and I had to buy the DVD as soon as I knew it was available. I'd highly recommend it.

A HEADING TO KNOWHERE
The first FIVE parts moved well and draws you into a nice little tale , that is SOOOOO far fetched the last part 6 is totally silly , all the common sense and police work just fades away leaving you with a sloppy badly cut , end to the saga, such a shame as with one more part it could have been a great moment in TV. FINISHING THE STORY WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE. .

Certainly worth seeing.
I bought this because only the first episode was on main TV and the rest was via the internet. I got fed up with having to sit through adverts so I bought the full set.I liked this very much indeed and it is a cut above other French, Norwegian and Danish series doing the rounds.Like all these films it has the odd glaring improbability but on the whole, and I think that this is because it is a compact six episodes, it is not too daft. Some of these series go on for far too many episodes and so to fill time they get dafter and dafter. The angle of this thriller is a bit different than most and it is pretty taut and exciting.I can certainly recommend his series.

The original Eyewitness and best.
I'm a Skam stan and wanted to support the nrk network. I saw this on 4OD first. It was a good thriller. Made me gasp and go wtf a few times. Shocking twists etc.I like the balance of it. The understated-ness and starkness. Sometimes shows can heavily weigh on an element of the story and it throws the tone off. This didn't feel over the top. The American version changes many elements and overly focusses on the boys in a way that I found... well- American. You kinda lost the thriller like mood. This version is great. Worth a watch!

Terrific police investigative thriller, plus++
This series really hooked me - a slow building police investigative thriller, with guy relationship and family relationship interwoven with it. I ordered it for the gay theme, but it turned out to be much more than that, and turned out the gay theme was really a minor but valuable (and low key, and nice) thread in the series. I planned on watching one episode a night, but after a certain plot development, it was like oh F, I got to watch the next one now! (Only 6 1hr episodes, and a full story that concludes.) It was very well written in how each character was working from his own viewpoint. And every character had a strong role in the series which I really liked. I had to watch the 1st episode twice just to get all the characters straight. And the story worked perfect with that Norway/Euro feel, from the sort of weathered Norwegian feel to the characters/actors, the Norway lifestyle, the Euro police divisions. I can't imagine an American remake of this just to change the language (which I assume was the reason - the subtitles were no problem). After watching it, I have no inclination the see the American version. Before ordering the series, I saw the youtube videos that extract the gay scenes and puts it to music (search "phillip and lukas, gay short"), but they're all from the American version, and it's apparent the gay part was embellished and the feel of it changed more than it needed (as you could expect for an American remake). I don't think you'll be let down at all by the Norway version.

... me to purchase the original Norwegian version and I'm glad I did
Watching the American version of this series inspired me to purchase the original Norwegian version and I'm glad I did. Terrific story and very well acted by the cast. I think that more often than not that we miss the mark when remaking European series. In this case I'm not sure I could say which version I like best. I'm just starting my fourth viewing (I've had this DVD for awhile so it's not consecutive viewing).

Noir-artiges Norwegisches Krimidrama
Leider gibt es keine Extras.4 SterneNoirish Norwegian Crime DramaØyevitne (Eyewitness) starts with two teenagers witnessing a crime. Philip (sensitively portrayed by the young actor Axel Gehrken Bøyum) and Henning (realistically played by Odin Waage) are having a rendez-vous when a shooting which will impact their lives and their relationship takes place. Since Henning does not want anyone to know that he's having a same-sex relationship, he and also Philip leave the crime scene and keep quiet about what they've seen. Philip's foster mother is chief of police in Mysen, where the murders witnessed by the two teenagers happened and investigates the crime. The story told in six one-hour episodes is complex and sometimes a bit over-fraught with dramatic elements. A character in the story, for instance, suffers three cardiac arrests. While the first two times this event adds drama to the story, the third time it seems repetitive, superfluous and above all - given the situation depicted in the scene - unnecessary from the dramatical point of view. The title song, strangely unimpressive, does not really harmonise with the noirish atmosphere of the series. The DVD contains the original version with optional English sub-titles. Unfortunately, there are no extras.4 stars
