This DVD is a collection of "home" videos taken by SR-71 RSO Lt. Col. Bill "Flaps" Flanagan in 1984 and 1985, while flying out of USAF Plant 42 in Palmdale, CA. Ground footage is also included of dramatic dusk and night operations, as well as the SR-71 airshow performance at Norton AFB in October of 1984. All of the footage is of first flight SR-71 tail number 955, currently at Edwards AFB museum, and last flight SR-71 tail number 972. Aircraft 972 was flown by Ed Yeilding and JT Vida on 6 March 1990, on the very last museum delivery flight, setting transcontinental speed records including 64 minute LA to DC, at an average speed of 2144 mph!
