Rovner Ligature & Plastic Cap for Soprano Saxophone - MKIII Ligature for Hard Rubber Mouthpiece (C-1RVS)

I have Rovner ligatures on all my saxophones now. This one was a struggle to get on without the screw falling out because it is so little. But once I got it to fit, it works great! It arrived promptly in perfect condition.

For me , the alto ligature fitted perfect but with the same brand reeds, the soprano ligature is not fitting well. Wasted some money.

I have Rovner ligatures for several instruments. They are excellent. This is my favorite model and I have them for alto sax and for soprano. They go on the mouthpiece the opposite way of metal ligatures, with tightening screws on top, screws to the right.

No question. This could a top grade ligature. Excellent materials, almost good craftsmanship. There was an interesting note in the box explaining that the in an effort to "complement a broad range of modern instrument finishes" the pins are not gold plated. The image however, shows gold plated pins. With such aesthetic concern, it is surprising that "Rovner" advertising appears both on the cap and the ligature, but the lethal flaw is the off center slit. Its not off center in the image, but it is way off center on the one that I received. It is about 1/3 in from one edge instead of halfway. Oh.. the screw machining is crudely executed with tool scoring on the shank, although the pins are well polished.

This is the second Rovner ligature I have bought on Amazon that was way too small. The alto one wouldn’t fit without completely removing the screw. I contacted Rovner, sent them my mouthpiece, and they sent it back with the exact same ligature model only it fit. I’m going to return this one to Amazon and order it from Rovner because I only have 1 mouthpiece and don’t want to send it off. Maybe these are seconds, mismarked, or fakes?

I first bought this same brand of ligature but for my alto saxophone, I loved it! So I went on amazon and bought another one but for my soprano and I love it too! It holds the reed perfectly and I feel I have a lot better control over the instrument. This is a must have if your wanting to become professional. I will definitely buy this again if needed.

It makes to insert a reed so simple. And sounds good too, although I didn't find an improvement in tone compared to traditional ligatures. Just the same sound, but more comvenience when using it.

This fabric ligature is known as the Rovner Dark ligature for legit or classical music.

Did not fit the saxophone it was advertised for. Poor customer service when attempting to get a refund.
