The mattress with this pack and play is 1/4-1/2 inch thick and an extra, 1-3 inch mattress is needed for baby comfort. Because this PnP is longer than most, you need to go to a site that sells custom mattresses. And sheets. Most PacnPlays are 38 inches-this one is 49. I'm not sure the extra length is worth it.

I bought this playpen/crib/diaper station for my grandson, since he stays with me 1-2 x ea. week. While the initial unboxing was good, the crib fabric has started to fade from its original grey to now a faded beige color on the sides and in the middle of the changing station. I've only had this a little over 1-month, and it's started to fade, even though I don't use it every day. I also always have a towel on top of the changing station, so I don't know why it's fading.. it looks kind of dirty instead of just a faded color - and the sides of the crib are fading as well, despite it not being moved nor touched. Despite that, this playpen serves my purpose, but I would definitely not purchase this again.

I was looking for the largest pack and play I could find. This was it! After setting it up I found I was in agreement with the pad, it was too thin. So I just ordered a mattress for it at www.ababy.com. It is a non-standard size (Width Size: 22") (Length Size: 46") (Thickness: 2"), but regular crib sheets are working. The sheets are little lose, but are working fine. Having a portable option like this for grandchild is so nice. Larger size mean you can use it longer too. I am a happy g-ma.

I ordered the Baby Joe Portable Playard with the recommended mattress to for this product but it was too small and I have not, yet, been able to find one that fits it. I had to order a 2" sleeping mat to give it some padding. The folding mat that is supplied is too firm with ridges where it folds; not comfortable for sleeping.
