Awesome
This book is just what I was hoping for. Easy reading, easy to understand and keeps you interested. Explains many different aspects of the cowboy life in separate chapters.

An informative and fun book to read for anyone who is into the cowboy and western culture.
I have been obsessed with the whole cowboy genre most of my life even though I was born and raised in Chicago. I did spend two summers working at a Wisconsin farm but that was the extent of my country experience. I have loved western movies, books and graphic novels for many years, as well as cowboy poetry. I immediately purchased this book (Cowboy: The ultimate guide to living like a great American Icon by Rocco Wachman and Matt Pellegrini) when I saw it on Amazon at a bargain price. Not only was this book highly informative but it is also an entertaining and fun book to read. I knew a little about the cowboy lifestyle before reading this volume, but somehow this book made the cowboy experiences come alive. This wonderful 196 page volume is organized into seven parts or chapters: The first part explains the cowboy roots: the origin of the icon. The second part covers the work of the modern day cowboy, which is not much different than in the 1800s. The third part goes into detail on cowboy gear and how to look the part of a real cowboy. The fourth part tells about the cowboy’s companions. The fifth part expounds upon the importance of the chuck wagon cooking and happiness around the campfire. The sixth chapter I really liked because it covers some of the things a cowboy does when not working. Since I have taken up the harmonica about two years ago, I was happy that this is one of the cowboy’s recreational instruments. The final part explains the rodeo as part of the cowboy culture. It does not matter if you are a city slicker, a country boy or just a fan of cowboys and westerns, this book is sure to entertain you and give you tips on how to be a real cowboy.Rating: 5 Stars. Excellent overview
Concise. Would highly recommend. Should have more on PBR and Wyoming rodeo. Pickup truck towing, especially dually comparisons, would be helpful.

The text and subject matter is good; no problems with the author- my problems are with the seller, who, in my opinion, mis-represented the condition the book was in.
