Excellent replacement for my broken key fob

We only have one key for Nissan X-Trail, so when the housing snapped we had a problem. Ordered at 6pm, arrived at 8.30am next day. Swapped the insides and key blade. Works perfectly.

Found that the nut and bolt were not as good as on original so I only used half of the new fob. This was excellent . I installed the electronics from the original into the new and fitted on to the old back.I now have a new looking fully functioning fob for a fraction of the cost of a Nissan supplied new one.Would highly recommendOnly scored four star because of nut and bolt. But result is five star

Easy to set up used the original key and chip from original key cover which was broken.Note this is a cover only not programmable use existing chip and battery and original key and very easy to set up.

This replacement key-fob housing has saved me £132. I have a 2010 Qashqai and the remote key-fob has lived a fairly rough life, carried everywhere in jeans pockets, constantly being dropped etc. The plastic started to crack with age, and bits of it started disintegrating. The electronics inside were fine, it was just the housing that needed to be replaced.I spoke to my local Nissan dealer who said that my only option was to buy a whole new remote key-fob and have it coded to my car by them, at a cost of about £140. I declined, and just hoped that the whole thing didn't eventually fall to bits. Then it struck me that I might be able to get just the plastic housing, without the electronics and without the hardware key that slides out from the side, and I came across this. I transferred the innards of the old fob into this new housing and it worked first time.One important piece of advice, however: when you remove the blank hardware key and replace it with your own existing key, use a little bit of Loctite thread-lock or some other thread-lock adhesive on the tiny little bolt that it pivots on, because if that works loose and you lose it, or the equally tiny nut at the other end, you could lose your key.You could even buy one of these and get a key-cutter to make a copy of your existing hardware key onto the blank, thus giving you a very cheap (non-remote) spare key.Bet Nissan dealers hate this! :)

I would not recommend this, seems to be bigger than original, also changing the key is problematic.

The media could not be loaded. My partner had one key that was pretty battered, so I got one of these to make it look as good as new.It takes about 5 minutes to do with the right tools. The result is a new looking key that works just as well as the genuine key and we've saved what appears to be >£50 from Nissan.The differences are that the screw that holds the key (that you don't use on keyless models) doesn't have a flat on it so if you are going to be using the key all the time, the screw may come undone eventually and there's no badge.I've done a video on the exchange method.

Very flimsy no good for what i intended. Easly broke. Not recomended at all
