LASCO203-2C Cold Plastic Ceramic Stem for Delta, Glacier Bay and Danze 0271

My bathroom faucet is about 20 years old. Is is now listed as the "Glacier Bay Teapot 4 in. Centerset 2-Handle Low-Arc Bathroom Faucet in Chrome". Going down a rabbit hole looking for parts, it was made clear that this replacement part was no longer available. I'm not sure if the current Teapot faucet has the same innards, either. Sure, $35 for a new faucet is not the end-all, but things should be fixable.I did try and buy just a gasket, which it needed. My local hardware store could not find an exact match. When I put it back together, I got a drip. Then, air in the pipes, knocking and eventually a random whine. It needed a better fix. As we are thinking of redoing the bath next summer, I was in no mood to buy a new fixture now. Plus, things should be fixable.Thanks to another poster who posted a photo, I saw my faucet. For the price, I took a chance. It works.Note: When I took off the plastic guard that holds the pieces together in the box, the blue washer and innards sprang out. First, cover your drain!Second, when I put the piece of plastic (reminds me of an old Fallout Shelter sign) in next to the washer, it can go two ways. I put it in upside down. You want the flat side up, against the other plastic bit that also has the same triangle cuts. When I put it all together (that piece upside down) I got the same drip. I flipped it and it is fixed. I now suspect that I put the original piece back together upside down when I replaced the washer a few months ago. Live and learn.

I wasn’t sure this was the correct stem for my Glacier Bay faucet but it fits and operates fine. My old one was leaking around the handle when the water was running. The original stems both had an “H” on one side and a “2” on the other side. See photos for more detail.

Nice valve and easy to install fit perfectly

This is a perfect fit for the Glacier Bay faucet shown in the picture (original faucet in 1989 house), and seems to be of better quality than the Danco stems I have purchased at Home Depot, most of which started squeaking almost right after installation. This one says "plastic ceramic" (ceramic cartridge in plastic housing) and perhaps the Danco ones are "plastic plastic." Installed it in a matter of minutes, and the leak from the stem is gone. And no squeaks!

So far, so good. I replaced the old cartridge with this new one about 4 weeks ago. It took maybe 4 minutes to replace, including a little cleanup of the cartridge seat before inserting this new one. It works.Update on Jan 23, 2020. I just had to replace the cartridge I had previously reviewed. The original that came with the faucet lasted for about 15 years. The replacement I ordered less than 2 years ago has already failed. We'll see how long this second replacement lasts.

It lasts for a year or two, sometimes less than a year. I wish they make it in high quality so I do not have to change the water tap frequently.

Easy to install. Old one was hard to get out.Seems fine and does not drip. But this is too stiff while turning. The old one was easy to turn.You can tell how stiff they are before installing. I did not install the hot yet. Not leaking. I can tell that the hot will be very stiff. Not sure if I can grease it with faucet grease. But always put that silicone grease on the o-ring and the bottom washer.

Purchased this to fix leaking tap. Had to modify the main shaft since it was too long to accept chrome handle. Did not fix the dripping right away... Turns out its not exactly the same as the original, so I had to transfer over some of the parts of the original to make it work

It works. Shipment was fast.A bit pricy for what it is.
