Cannibal Holocaust (Two-Disc Director Edition) [DVD] [1980]

This is a movie that was Banned from the cinemas and from video show etc etc back in the 1980’s and its never been allowed to show this film anywhere.... it’s full of abuse, and cannibalism that’s extremely graphic that should not be shown on here.. mainly because It’s disgusting and that children are able to access this movie to easily...it needs to be removed from Amazon Prime ASAP..

I didn’t find it that hard to watch, I expected to be grossed out to the point where I couldn’t watch, maybe because in this day and age I’ve hardened to violently scenes in the news, media and movies. Imagine seeing this in the 80s and yeah, then it’s shocking.the turtle scene is only horrific as you know it’s real, if it was fake I’d have been ok with it.The odd thing is , I wanted the film crew to die as they were just animals, worse than the cannibals.The music was beautiful, Ennio Morricone style, loved the contrast of the horror with this gorgeous music.Great video quality and sound quality. I’ll never forget this film.Interesting story, had a message, great soundtrack, unlike anything I’ve seen before, therefore I recommend it to horror fans only.FYI the most horrific movie I’ve seen is The Martyrs ...rent that next.

The 1 star is because I couldn't rate it 0 and also because I suppose the main idea, the western world being the true criminals, is a decent one.The horror scenes were pretty graphic but if you're used to that kind of stuff you should be able to stomach them.The real atrocity in that film is the fact that real animals are not only killed but actually tortured! I just couldnt believe what I was watching, I thought surely this is made up, but nope they did commit these crimes. How could the actors go on with this. It was vile.Do yourself a favor and don't watch this crap.

Badly made, dreadful acting, possibly one of the most pointless films I've watched in a very long time.I continued to watch in the hope it might get better. It didn't.

I watched this film after so much hype on the internet about how gruesome it is, but honestly, it isn't even that bad. I actually think I enjoyed the film. Even considering the animal deaths are real, the initial injuries are obscured. It's an interesting look at how humans interact and I suspect that a lot of people that are offended by this are white. I found it to be very representative of our history. I found the film team abhorrent, and that made their fates justified in my eyes. Nobody wants to accept that atrocities committed in war, etc but unfortunately some people are just predisposed to be evil. I think this film shows an example of that. It is horrific and sobering. I would recommend.

I was very surprised to see this on Prime and watched out of curiosity given its infamous reputation. Its quite before its time in some respects with its 'found footage' elements but puts itself beyond the pale with scenes of real animal cruelty which means in my view it should be removed from this streaming platform and never see the light of day again.

Wow can’t believe I stumbled upon this, I watched it was back in 80s on VCR 📼 I’m sure it Was banned, can’t remember, not as bad as some of movies of today, but few grim scenes!Surprised to see it again!

You will need a strong stomach to watch this film, not suitable for the squeamish. And you need to know its not a documentary.
