Easy to read, but full of glaring omissions, e.g., no mention of Theodore Roosevelt. No mention of Franklin Roosevelt until Yalta conference. No mention of the building of the Panama Canal. Minimal discussion of the profound developments in the arts. I felt like key events (e.g. World War One) were presented as a series of anecdotes rather than treated systematically. If you knew nothing or next to nothing about the 20th Century, this might be a useful book. If you know something about the 20th Century, you'll find yourself wincing at the omissions.

Very easy read. I'm glad the instructor chose this book for class because reading this book was very easy and I learned a lot and it did not make me want to die. So, good one, get it.

Was so good, I am now going to read Short History of the World by G Blainey!

I found this entertaining and informative,but then again I find Geoffery Blainey,is usually a bloody good read unlike some Historians,or would be Historians.

Well written almost like a historic novel well worth reading for anew slant on his history

This is a must read for every American especially the kids that have gone through our present school system where they get nothing but what the progressives want them to learn. This book gives them the other side of our history.

Excellent racy coverage of the 20th Century. Was thought provoking without being too consumed with academic tendencies.
