HTC Dot View Case for HTC One (M8) - Retail Packaging - Baton Rouge

This is a great case. When I first received it, I thought it was a little flimsy for the price paid, and not sure how it would survive a drop, but it's a great addition and offers, at the very least, scratch protection to a really nice phone. I wasn't sure what to expect after reading the reviews on the color, but I'm very happy with my choice. I think the color displayed on the computer screen is very close in color to the actual case.For those that have complained about the hinge cracking or not being able to fold it all the way back when you talk on the phone...why would you fold it back? You can talk on it with the cover on, and then your phone doesn't get all smudgy from your face. It is very easy to answer calls, hang up, display the time/temp, etc. The dots are a very cool feature, and it's quite easy to read, especially when you want to know the time in a dark room at night and don't wish to be blinded by the backlight on the phone.For those that use the IR blaster to control your tv, this case does not cover that up, so that's a bonus because a lot of the cases I have found do.Only one con that I have: I have a thick screen protector, so with the cover closed, it does not lay flat. This should not pose a problem with a phone with no screen protector or perhaps a very thin one. It does state as such on the packaging, and the packaging comes with instructions on how to answer calls with it on, etc. Yes it would have been nice to have a little heavier top cover, like the iPad covers with a magnetic closure or something. In all I would highly recommend this case.

Really nice color spot on with the photo. it's very thin once you put it on the phone. It is rubber on the front and more of a hard shell case on the reverse to offer some protection. It's great to show off the DotView especially in the dark but the call feature doesn't always work it will take some effort to slide your finger down or up when answering or ignoring a call. Keeping it clean maybe a small issue because there a tons of tiny holes that gives you that DotView feature. It may be annoying ever so often that the prompt for voice dialing comes on and the voice is very robotic and loud but once you open the front cover you can simply X out of that feature.I'm pretty happy with the case for the most part

OK - its nifty.Pros:The special UI that gives you the dotview is cool.Adds no bulk to the device.The phone is slippy, and the material does give it grip (but so does any good case).Cons:I didn't like the feel of the material (very plastic feel).I put the phone to my ear a lot of the time (in public - so I am not blaring away into a headset and annoying everyone) I found makeup got into the little holes (yuk).The red color is a little dull... but to be fair it doesn't look bright red in the pic and the color shown is pretty accurate.Probably my preference, but if some of these things would bother you, I would get something different.I went for a screen protector and the Poetic (clear, one with a blue strip, one with a purple stripe), which I really like.

It is more purple than red - it covers the phone well and fits nicely. It has some nice features however, if you don't use HTC apps for things like text, email and phone (I use Google apps for all) the notifications do not yet work. Caller id, time and weather is all you get. You have voice recognition but it is different than the Google version and a bit tedious - it has almost never gotten any request correct.I saved $$ by buying it here -- I definitely wouldn't pay the price that the BIG THREE are asking for it.

I really wanted to love this product. I heard people saying about how its plastic and its annoying and it closes but that never bothered me. I think its a beautifully sleek design. It came in the proper packaging and everything, BUT (there's a but) it didn't lay flat. I have a very very slim screen protector, and I know that that wasn't the problem so I was sad and I returned it. I ordered a new one because I thought maybe they had messed up. The 2nd one I got in the mail closed more but it still didn't lie flat on my phone. I love this product and I would've kept it for sure if it fit correctly. I think I'll go get the full priced one later at the ATT store but for now I just got a trendy cheaper one. Those people who got one that laid flat, lucky! I just didn't want to go through the process of returning it and waiting a third time. 😊

I ordered this a while ago since the once that I had bought when I first got my HTC broke. The old one was gray and worth 50$ at the store, which was an overwhelming amount of money! And here I come and I order the same product for a much cheaper price, I was so happy! I still see no difference with this product and the previous one; the only complaint I have is that the MAROON color turned out PINKISH. I wasn't unhappy with that; in fact, I had been looking for a pink cover while ordering so it was a win-win.

The idea of this dot view case is wonderful. It lets you see some info from HTC M8 without flip open the case and it also allows some finger movement to control the phone. The one I have might be defective because it does not provide a tight fit to my phone. Anyhow, it is a good product.

This cover is nice, but it doesn't really have the phone "Protection" feel to it. The phone cover(flap) doesn't fit smoothly on top of the phone either. Kinda wish it had a clip to hold it in place. The Quick access swiping is good though you are able to answer a phone call with a swipe or turn off an alarm.It's a cool effect, but i'd rather just have a regular case. I have already purchased a new phone case to replace this one.

The HTC case was good value for money however the item was misleading in its description as the item was shown as a candy pink one which is the colour i actually preferred however a different colour red arrived instead

I like the features and the protection that this case offers.However, the color is no where near what is displayed on the website. There is a bit more purple to in and the back of the case is significantly lighter in color which leans it towards pink.

Great design, phone can be used without opening the case.
