SteelexD4175 3” Cast Iron Swivel Caster (fits SHOP FOX D2058A Mobile Bases)

I have a Shopfox mobile base under an 18" bandsaw. The original castor wheels started disintegrating this last year. I found these cast iron castors that are advertised to fit Shopfox so I bought them. Wow do they ever roll easy. Very pleased with these castors and I don't think they will fall apart like the originals. After I started looking for these I found out that Shopfox and Grizzly brand of mobile bases seemed to have this castor wheel problem. So someone figured out going back to cast iron to solve it. So far so good.

I suppose I should have anticipated this considering the price, but still they should reveal that these do not come with wheel bearings. Will need to decide if this should be an issue before using. Also "axle" is fairly small for the cavity in the wheel casting. Comes without lubricant on axle.Not advertised as having locks.Manuverability; not tested.

The original units on my Woodstock / Shop Fox mobile base had hard rubber wheels that finally dried out and cracked off. These are now steel wheels, I expect them to outlast me.

I have a lot of weight on my Shop Fox, specifically a Jet 16" band saw. In spite of that the original wheels lasted more than 10 years. These were the perfect replacement, at least on a concrete surface. Easy to install. Never have to do that chore again.

Using on the bottom of a large gate to keep it from sagging it is well made and holds up well in the weather

Strong, maybe a little squeaky, but will never break.

Well made. They're under a cart that holds pipe in my welding shop to move it around. It's holding a lot of weight. Rolls hard but that's because of the weight I have to push, but they roll and are holding up.

besides the fact that it took 3 months to deliver it, it was exactly as described and exactly what i needed.
