Excellent resource for beginners and experienced Dresden plate makers alike. There are plenty of graphics and instructions are clear.

I was completely enthralled by this book. I read it 3 times. I did not know there were so many ways to make and use Dresden plates so that was interesting to me. The author is definitely knowledgeable about Dresden plates because this book has all you need to know about making them. She has shown that one can go from the quilts of old to a very modern looking burst of color of today. This is strictly a technique book. There are not a lot of complete patterns in it like some quilting books but with this technique, some scraps of fabric, a Dresden template (which is not included) and a little creativity you are good to go. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone interested in learning much about Dresden plates.

This is a beautiful book and Candyce is to be applauded for her creative work and encouragement for all of us to think of Dresdens in entirely new settings and styles. Candyce's instructions are clear and concise and photos of her ideas are spectacular. Use of color and imagination are ample and beautiful. The roadmap on page 31 is worth the price of the book alone!! I was lucky enough to take a one day class from Candy and came away with 6 new ideas for my Dresden sampler quilt - exciting and eye-candy fun!

This is the most exciting quilting book I’ve purchased in a long time!! It has the most unique way of creating Dresden plate patterns I’ve ever seen. The authors use of colors is so vivid. The many different ways of doing them goes on n on. I’ve become addicted with making them. The actual sewing of them doesn’t take much time at all.For me the most time consuming part is selecting the perfect fabrics for each plate. I even put together a design wall so I can put them up n just enjoy looking at them all together. Not sure what I’m eventually going to put them on, so In the mean time I’ll just keep sewing away

I have been making Dresden dollies for 30 years and this gave me some great new ideas on making them..I think it is more for the advanced beginner.

The book arrived, right on time, in perfect condition.

As a long-time quilter, I often need inspiration to change things up a bit and breathe new life into what I create. This book is yummy and exciting. The author uses a particular wedge tool which has a larger angle than the one I already own. But mine worked just as well; I just needed to make more blades for each of my Dresden plates. This is definitely something fun to play with. Results are hard to predict, so you have to be willing to wing it a bit. Am using it in tandem with a friend to compare and swap. Lots of fun!
