Confused
I like Stoya so this is not a knock on her at all. What I do not understand is how she or this movie were given awards. Where? What awards? The Never Get an Award Otherwise maybe? The movie and Stoya did an adequate job of getting the point over if the point was drain all motivation to watch further movies this week. Not a bad movie, it just left me uninspired, it was like having a nicer enough meal but forgetting what you ate by the next day.Maybe the easiest way to sum it up was I found the movie from a 12 minute review I found on YouTube. With the exception of the nude scenes, everything this movie did was covered in that review. And I mean literally everything. This movie could have been done in 15 minutes and still had 3 minutes of Stoya nude which might be the only saving grace really. Why? What awards?

Highly Entertaining
A.I. Rising Is the type of Scifi film I'm always searching for but rarely find, and that is- an evenly paced story that keeps you on the edge of your seat, set in a futuristic environment which maintains its focus on a small cast of intriguing characters. The films protagonist is Milutin, a cosmonaut played by Sebastian Cavazza, whose shady ego seems to have been sculpted by a history of negative experiences with women. Milutin therefore maintains his sanity by focusing on his work which includes long solitary ventures in outerspace. However Milutin's current assignment is contingent upon traveling with an Android named Nimani, played by the actress known as Stoya. Nimani the android was built specifically to meet all the standards that Milutin subconsciously desires in a mate.A.I. Rising suffers from a rocky beginning that disappointed me. This may be due to some hasty or just plain crappy editing because the performance of the actors was solid from start to finish. Because of this, first time viewers may initially feel like they've been mislead into purchasing a low budget soft-core teaser film, but nothing could be further from the truth. A.I. Rising delves respectfully into the psychology of projection and the nature of consciousness, which greatly facilitates realistic character growth in a relatively short amount of time. Aside from a healthy dose of fan service the films initial pace slowed due to unnecessary clips of the spacecraft accompanied by a score reminiscent of 2001 A Space Odyssey. The main guts of the film however are visually appealing, scifi-satisfactory and surprisingly timely considering the current burgeoning interest in the nature of consiousness. In summary, A.I. Rising is a rewarding viewing experience that will undoubtedly become a cult classic.

Very disappointed
I wanted to like this movie. I really enjoy the multi-talented Stoya, but I am a lover of Sci Fi, and enjoy AI. So this was right up my alley. Or so I thought. The sad thing is, it could have been a really good movie. The premise was there for the taking: Self indulged and man who doesn't respect women gets stuck on a deep space voyage with..........a woman. I dialogue and interactions could have been fabulous and if done correctly, could have become one of those movies that people refer back to for years to come. But alas, it was not so.However, Stoya performed here lines and attitude without a hitch. One person stated in a different review that Stoya is naked during the whole movie. Not true. She spends a fairly large part of the show with clothes on. But if you like women who have an athletic build and whose figure seems to always look like an 18 year old, then you will not be disappointed. One warning, if bright and/or flashing lights give you a headache or seizures, then you should skip this movie. They usually don't bother me, but during one or two scenes I actually started to get a headache.

Mesmerizing
I was having a bad week after suffering through Breach, 2067, Archenemy, and one or two others I'm relieved I can't recall, when I watched A.I. Rising. What a relief! A.I. Rising is a tribute to the 70's and 80's (2001 A Space Odyssey, Bladerunner, A Clockwork Orange, Andromeda Strain come to mind) when sci-fi films were unafraid to tackle social and philosophical issues without calling on Marvel comics to keep their attention-disordered viewers from falling asleep or phone texting.Well performed, with a haunting musical score and well-paced dialog, it's in the section of my sci-fi DVD collection that's up for another evening with me when I've had time to digest it over the next few weeks. This will be a sought after listing in sci-fi cult films of the future, trust me.

extremely intuitive, visceral.....art house kind of sci fi flick with a dose of soft sex, mostly!
...this movie has gotten a lot of unwarranted bad reviews. To start with....there aren't any bells or whistles, except for the graphics, which are great. There is a story here, although you need to understand the psychological nature of the movie. If you can get passed one of the earlier scenes.... and there is only one like it... then the rest of the film should make sense. This is definitely along the lines of a Stanley Kubrick film. The acting was good, I thought. The guy has a heavy accent, which might distract you. I bought the movie so I can watch it over and over... but that's just me. Not for everyone......

You need to know what you're getting yourself into.
So I get to be the first. To answer the important question-- Stoya is naked through most of the movie and still looks wonderful. I know many of you want to know this for science. This is not a man flies out into space and ends up fighting aliens who are obviously British character actors with rubber stuff on their face movie it is a story about a messed up man who flies out into space and ends up talking about relationships questions movie. This movie will start a lot of arguments on date night. It looks amazing particularly considering what is likely a very low budget. I'm not sure that the people who made it are as smart as they think they are,but accepting the main premise it's an interesting film. Just don't expect any laser guns.

this little gem is different
Nice to see a different future scifi story, rather than the regular hero stuff! Enjoyed it.

A.I. rising
Mi sono fidato del parere di un amico, ahimè. Purtroppo sono rimasto profondamente deluso. Film veramente monotono con una trama assolutamente inesistente. Inguardabile a mio soggettivo parere.
