Great tool. Worth the investment. User-friendly interface on iOS for iPad.
DISCLAIMER: I am not a network administrator nor by any means am I knowledgeable of wi-fi/wireless security thus I’m not able to fully articulate the useful features of this tool, though likely there are many. This review is solely from the viewpoint of a complete novice, an everyday consumer of wireless technology. My midlife crisis began last summer when I moved into this mecca of IoT called a ‘Smart Home’. For those in the market and/or may be unfamiliar with ‘Smart Homes’, consider this; Smart Homes are efficient in every way except economically. Repeat; Smart Homes are exceedingly resource-efficient every way til Friday but you better be ready to pay. Every light switch, light bulb, outlet, faucet, shower head, bathtub, sink, toilet, hot water, cold water, door, window, thermostat, etc., is wi-fi integrated. A highly personalized report containing what may be considered sensitive information (i.e. brand, type of device, MAC addresses, serial numbers, among other identifying factors) describing your abuse of aforementioned in painfully intricate detail is captured by your Smart Meter then distributed to your HOA, public utility/service companies, neighbors, and others interested. Depending on your situation, you are either expected to adjust your behavior or interaction with amenities, adhere to a (strict!) assigned usage schedule, or select between variable peak/off-peak rates and flat rate billing. Eventually I went with flat rate billing. Sometimes life happens when you’re not paying attention and you’re in for a loop so I like to create some predictability wherever I can. Wrong! In fact the billing details became increasingly confusing and difficult to decipher. And it gets even worse..Despite all that, my home network was complete trash. Evidently the house is online 24/7 though I could not maintain a connection on any of my devices for longer than 15-20 minutes. This all was going on around the same time 5G was the latest and greatest so I was quick to jump on the bandwagon. We live in a time where internet reliability is as necessary for continued existence as food and water. It may be even be higher in priority as it provides those means for many of us who work or attend school from home. Going without it is like hunting without bullets. Ahh, but not so FAST.. the joke’s on me, my frustrations only grew, and hell on earth was relentless for several months.Enter the Oscium WiPry 2500x.. At this point I’m forgetting what exactly led me to look into purchasing a spectrum analyzer but I’m glad I did. I quickly discovered that 5G is a highly nuanced technology. In other words, don’t expect your ISPs technical support team to be of much assistance when troubleshooting your network. Additionally, since everything requires a signal, utilities are easily hacked and stolen. This, along with the reality that wireless charging is widely adopted and quickly evolving from mobile phones to vehicles and likely entire homes in the near future, would be devastating to anyone unable to manage unexpected costs. The tool itself is a peripheral you use in conjunction with your laptop, tablet, or phone. I believe the software is widely compatible with most devices. My personal preference is using a tablet. It’s a bit cumbersome to use with a laptop since you might have to look for signals in small spaces, and the screen on the phone is too small. There also seems to be a lot of lag when picking up signals on a mobile device. I imagine that would serve as a major disadvantage for anyone recording video or relying on live feedback.Oscium offers a few accessories on their website that enhance or extend the functionality of this tool. I decided the ‘Interference Finder’ would serve my purposes. My expectations upon testing may have been outside of it’s intended design; I hoped it would locate the specific sources of interference as described on their website though it appeared to detect signal bi-directionally based on the heat-map readings. In case none of the optional accessories suit your needs perfectly, there are ways to create your own probes or antennas by modifying a mini-Coax F cable and connecting it to the WiPry unit.Overall, this tool has been a great investment. Very happy and highly satisfied.

Deceiving photos and poor performance
Where do I start, I expected a scanner as shown, well what I received was a little plastic device with a very short cable. This must be connected to your own device. I had no idea this was not a actual scanner. When I finally got a display it only showed a couple of users on Channel 11. My hotspot showed 6. Same with Ch 6, showed one, my hotspot showed one.SO disappointing. Cable so short you need 3 hands. Not worth any way near what this costs. Going back today.

Must have tool for your detailed technical analysis. Lets you see the unseen.
Very well constructed tool and accessory cables. This tool can help you find dead spots, overcrowded channels, and allows you to see everything in 2.4 and 5.8 GHZ ranges with on single antenna.

You can find a better quality product for what you pay for this.
I used it for work. I dislike the price, it's an okay product. You get to little for the money.
A**!
Did what I needed
Exactly what I needed to diagnose an SNR related wifi issue at an apartment complex. App is a little clunky but it got my project done

Solid Analyzer
Solid wifi analyzer. Essentially this is a glorified antenna - the app for your phone does all the heavy lifting.

Pretty good spectrum analyzer.
At least this thing is a much better value that The WiFi Hound for about the same money.

This product excels in its presentation of information on the surrounding wifi world.
I have owned this product for a week and am extremely well pleased. I pledge I am not in any way speaking for the company, but feel that this is a solution I have waited a long time for. I would strongly recommend it to those in the IT/LAN/Security Devices/wifi installer/maintainer support world for confirming operation, verifying compliance, and trouble shooting wifi and or security issues. This is a plug and play product. On the first day of use and upon powering up, (without reading the manual yet) I found a printer plugged into the network (cable) and up on wifi at the same time. It is a security violation with our organization for printer/scanners to be on wifi and somehow had been overlooked. Without resorting to records to find its location, I used the paddle antenna to directionalize or (DF) and walk right up to it. On the second day of use at a suburban home setting, I was amazed with initial findings: the number wifi users around me – higher than I thought it would be, further - those that were using their last names for the SSID, next was range – one that one was ½ mile away though I do have an advantage from local terrain, and then one that was not under encryption. Can be used to find unknown devices. Picks up microwave ovens.Although my organization does use spectrum analyzers, I can use this for a quick response check without checking out the equipment, setting it up, let alone moving from facility to facility. This fits in a jacket pocket. This is an external off board spectrum analyzer for 2.4 and 5 Mhz frequencies that attaches (velcro or hand held - short cable) to the Apple iPhone or iPad or Andriod product lines. For those using Apple products this is an extremely nice way around Apples limitations and I think (?) the only one of its kind. Size is approx. the form factor of a deck of playing cards. Comes with 4 rechargeable AAA batteries and does not rely on the iPad battery. Has a charging port and you can use the Apple charger for that.In conclusion I would say that the manner of screen presentation is a huge selling point as whatever you are looking for, its easy to pick out. Good use of color. Multiple screens. Individual devices can be finger tapped and additional details are presented. Read the docs that are out there, download the Oscium simulator app to see how its going to look. That app turns into the operations app once you buy the hardware. The app itself is free. You need to provide the phone and or tablet. The company is very responsive to email and I have inquired if a companion product for the cell world is possible using the same presentation style. They have this under consideration.
