Zen Relaxation DVD - Japanese Gardens for Relaxing and Meditation

I wanted something that would provide very background ambiance. I got this mostly for the sound of rain and running water.And for these elements, the DVD is wonderful.What was a bonus were the beautiful images of gardens. Note: the cover of the dvd might lead one to think that you will get images of zen gardens. These are not. They are Japanese gardens. You will find waterfalls, ponds (some with Koi), lush green grass and trees. There are a variety of scenes, and I really like most of them. In most scenes, there is some form of water sound: either a little waterfall, a babbling brook, light rain, medium rain, etc. A few have explosions of pink flowers that I personally find unpleasant... almost violent. And one scene has a fake deer in it that looks like some cheap, xmas lawn ornament.There is one track that I also don't like: it is of a bamboo water dripper. It is beautiful to look at it, but the slow, incessant drip drop of water is very annoying.I like having this on when I read and or meditate, or things like that.Hope this helps!

I have quite a collection of these videos. This is one of my very favorites. The scenes are so beautiful and each shot is so expertly and artistically chosen to be aesthetically pleasing. Colors, textures, play of light and dark and angles are just perfect. Every scene is such a feast for the eyes. When I am stressed out, I watch this and I become very relaxed. I'm so grateful to Tony for finding all of these wonderful places and then putting them on DVD's for everyone to enjoy. We are able to visit places that many of us would never have the chance to go to.My personal preference is for natural sounds. The music in the DVD's, though, is very nice. My only fault with this video is that the main film has no choice of either music or natural sounds. It would be nice, but it's not a big deal. The rest of the films on the disc are natural sounds.I highly recommend this DVD and am positive that everyone would enjoy it.

I purchased this to play and have pleasant sounds while I was doing the not so pleasant tasks of housework such as dusting, folding laundry, picking up dog toys, dishes, etc. Well no housework was done after I put it in the first time or since!! The scenes are gorgeous and I couldn't stop watching! The music is sooooo beautiful and soothing! Love the koi ponds!! Now when I put it in, I have to put a towel over the tv screen or I'll just sit on the couch watching and get nothing done!! I highly recommend this DVD!! I am giving some of these as gifts too as I know friends & family would love it! Perfect for home, office or business waiting room!

I love this dvd!It's perfect to put on while I'm reading or just chilling 'round the house... even light housekeeping.

I was very IMPRESSED with DVD It has so msnyFeatures on it .. very Relaxing ..Picures of sceneries etc R So KOOL...When DVD arrived I thoght ah probably want like it waste of time an money But I LOVED it soon as I put in DVD ..Very enjoyable an sent 2 me with no long WAITING..Hope everyone enjoys as much as I do!

After having seen very interesting programs about Japanese gardens on NHK (Japanese TV) I wanted to buy some DVD telling the history of the Japanese gardens. When I have opened this DVD I was a little bit disappointed because this DVD is for relaxing, meditation or you can use it as background.But! This DVD is of a very good quality!Natural sounds, especially of a running water, pictures, colors are wonderful. DVD was obviously filmed with HD cameras.It's a pity that I still don't know which Japanese gardens were presented in this DVD...Victoria Lando, Finland

Beautiful scenery!! I do like the music, but found I agree with a couple of other reviewers... It would be great to have the choice of background sounds... Sometimes the music is too much and I'd prefer to see the images on #1 and 2 with just water or rain as the background sound. #3 is only about 19mins long and repeats and that's the one I've been watching more of. Still a good buy.

I bought two DVD's of this kind. This one is by far the best. If you want to truly relax & relieve all stress...this may be just what you are looking for. The photography is excellent. The HD resolution is cracking sharp. The many scenes from this large landscape are breathtaking. This garden has many water features & lots of Koi fish. The garden designs are a display of perfect order, peace, and harmony. I shall return to this place again and again. This film is a prize for my collection.
