RUVED Wellness Jam with Amla, Enhanced Chanvanprash, Immune and Digestive Support, 10.6 oz

I was excited to try RUVED Wellness Jam with Amla, but, sadly, I was not impressed. I don't know what Amla is and what it should taste like, but both the taste and the texture of this jam were really off. It's runny and grainy at the same time - you can not spread it on toast, for instance, and you can't eat it by the sponful because the texture is unpleasant. The taste (to me) is somewhat medicinal and I did not enjoy it.At the time of this review, RUVED Wellness Jam with Amla is priced at over $30 for a small jar, which is a bit much for any jam or welness product in my opinion.

I tried the RUVED Wellness Jam with Amla, Certified Organic Jam, Enhanced Chanvanprash, All-Natural Immune Support and Tonic, Digestive-Support Herbal Jam with Vitamin C, Antioxidant Supplement because I was curious about the taste. I just want a good-tasting jam; if it boosts my immune system, that's a bonus.This jam arrives with a plastic seal. The jar lid came off easily.The texture of the jam is on the runnier side. There's also a graininess to it. It spreads well on toast.The taste is quite spicy. The cardamom and cinnamon hit first, with a hint of fruitiness beneath them. I like it, especially on toast, but it is quite different. I can see people not liking the flavor.

Tastes great, I use it on toast. I will be ordering more.

I am always curious about new foods, and my mantra is - "try (almost) anything at least once".So, when I saw RUVED Wellness Jam with Amla - RUVED Wellness Jam with Amla I have decided to try it.List of ingredients is long, and some (marked by °) are grown organically.If you notice in picture of the label, there are two issues - it claims to be non-GMO but lacks of USDA non-GMO seal, and like I have mentioned above SOME ingredients are certified as organic by manufacturer (marked by °), some are not, hence not sure if it qualifies as truly organic.Also, not shown in the description, but clearly visible on the label - this product has California Proposition 65 due to lead content exposure (albeit small) - I believe this should be disclosed in either the description or picture of the label on the product website, so purchaser could make an informed decision.For those two reasons, I hade to deduct stars from my review.THE TASTE AND CONSISTENCY: Amla jam is dark, viscous, slightly grainy in appearance. Taste is quite unique but pleasant - mildly sweet, with hints of honey, cardamom, cinnamon and nutmeg, with peppery finish. Taste is not bad, bust since it is a jam that can be used on toast etc, peppery finish can take some getting used to.I cannot speak in regards to health benefits of this jam, since I have just started using it.Overall pleasant scent and taste, but two important aspects were omitted, hence my two star review.If you found this review as helpful, please indicate so by pressing "helpful" button below.Thanks for reading and your time!

RUVED Wellness Jam with Amla, Certified OrganicWell to say this isn’t your normal jam for a PB&J is an understatement. Not that you may like it that way but the taste is something to get used to. Think of it as a savory jam. There are spicy notes from cardamom and cinnamon. There are sweet notes too and I get a bit of an Indian cuisine taste. Like this might make a good chutney. The jury is out for my taste buds, I’m not sure about this one. It is loaded with health benefits and is priced like a health product. I’m just not convinced on this one.

I came to LOVE this stuff. It's an acquired taste but when I ran out, I missed the flavor in my smoothies.

The taste of this jam is so good that it is easy to forget it's a healthfood. It's got a smooth berry taste that has just a slight bit of tartness. The reason I gave this 4 stars and not 5 is because it is rather expensive but then again, you get what you pay for. If money isn't an issue and you're a healthnut, check this out. It's good stuff.
