Star Wars Rebels: The Secret Jedi: The Adventures of Kanan Jarrus: Rebel Leader Hardcover – February 3, 2015

The book itself is beautifully done. Good quality and great pictures. It summarizes Kanan's life with the Ghost team as described by the series Rebels. The draw of this book, the holocron and secret website, are underwhelming. The holocron is a neat flip open picture but the "secret website" must have been destroyed years ago. I wasn't able to find it, mention of its demise, or any indication of what happened.

When I purchased this my son wanted to know more about Kanan. He is 4 years old and already a Star Wars fan. There is little known about this new character and how he survived order 66. I thought this might give some background. Instead I found that it just summarized the series. While the book is fine to read with your child instead of just watching the shows over and over again, I felt it was not what was advertised. It should just state it is a compilation of the Star Wars Rebel series. The only book that gives background on Kanan is in the adult collection, entitled "A New Dawn." It is a great book, but this is not for young children. Also, the "secret jedi website" from the Holocron is really just more summarizing from the series and scenes from the series. I suppose it would be okay for some kids, but my son was disappointed. He thought that it would have at least some new special information.

This book was a little disappointing. It held very little "insight" into Kanan Jarrus. The book consists of fairly poorly written summaries of the episodes. It is illustrated with some outtakes from the cartoon that are almost too dark to see the figures clearly.

Great read for young Star Wars fans
