I have used this reflex hammer for 12 years now and the rubber has not corroded and it still is working great!

Still using years later
Bought this many years ago and I can say that I still use it today and it works great. The reflex hammer was surprisingly good quality.

Great value & product!
I am a nursing student and bought this to practice reflexes (on some people it is more difficult than you would think to get a reaction). Anyway, the reflex hammer is built very well for the price & worked well for my purposes. I have had no issues with the color "bleeding" onto clothing as other reviewers have stated. Also wanted to mention that the head of the reflex hammer you receive may not be the same color as pictured (mine is black not peach colored). Overall, this product is well made and well priced.

Geat for hands on learning
We purchased these hammers for 40 fifth graders who were learning about the brain to use with a neurologist who visited the school to talk about what he does. The kids were SO excited to try these out on each other and this made the lesson a huge hit. The quality was great and the price very reasonable. When I contacted the company to confirm the delivery date, they switched us to a faster plan at no extra charge. We had en excellent experience overall!

Nice Percussion Hammer for Less Than $3!
Good little hammer to check reflexes in a first aid kit. I got one to round out our home first aid kit - I suppose that as a former paramedic, I got a little carried away. This would be perfect for a child or medical student. It's a nice quality, low cost way to check reflexes. I don't anticipate having to check reflexes on a regular basis...but if I ever do need to do it, I'll have the percussion hammer. I guess I'd rather have it and never need it, than not have it and need it just once. And I wasn't even a Girl Scout. Very long.

Works great, tastes like a tar baby's butt
Cheap as hell, but the price was right for turning them into a christmas craft project for the doctors and nurse practitioners at my office. In a pinch they could actually be used just fine for their intended purpose. Please note that you will need to wash your hands vigorously after handling. The rubber leaves something on your skin which has a tendency to find it's way into your mouth making you think you just ate the ass end out of a tar baby.

The need for real instruments
I bought this for my 5 year old grandson. For the past 2 years he has said he wants to be a scientist and knows more than the average person about how our bodies work (knows what white blood cells do and what red blood cells do, etc). His mother bought him a child's doctor set and he told her he needs the "real thing so I'll know". One of my presents to him this year is a stocked real doctor's bag with real reflex hammer, stethoscope, otoscope, bp cuffs, etc. So I believe he'll like the reflex hammer!

Sharp End
I bought this to go in my son's "toy" medical kit as we like to give him as many real items as possible. Sadly, the bottom point of the hammer is very sharp so I will have to decide whether to somehow dull it (dremel perhaps?) or simply leave it out of his medical kit entirely. It seems to be a good tool. It has some good weight to it. I would not call this a flaw in that it is not really meant for a child, but worth mentioning in case other parents out there are looking at this for the same reason.
