D-Link Router Problems
I purchased a D-Link DIR-868L September 3, 2018. I use the 5G side of the router. I kept getting messages on my devices that that they had "Trouble connecting" or "Slow Internet Connection". I had two signal bars on the 5G side and when I checked the 2.4 G side has five bars. I looked at D-Link support and found the DIR-868L is obsolete and support had ended back in 2016. They want $40 for one time support. I think it is time to throw away the D-Link and replace it with another brand.

Not really what I expected
I received a rebuilt model, not a "retail" version as noted on the Amazon page. IT seems to drop out pretty regularly and does not have great range. Mine is in the basement of a 1600 SF ranch style home and there were areas where it was generally unusable in the 5Ghz band. I bought a D-Link extender for the main floor and that has helped, bustle wind up rebooting it every couple of days.

Seems like it works ok....kind of vanilla.
Not something I would buy again, but serves the purpose. Does seem to leave many dead spots in my house coverage, in fact I was on the net searching for info on this when I saw there were no reviews on Amazon for it. I bought mine from on of the big box stores because I needed to get back on the internet without waiting for delivery, I am currently looking for a booster.

Cloud-App Enabled but Unable to Connect
I was very hopeful when I read the description with all the bells and whistles. I was very disappointed that when contacting D-Link support to find out that the model is was discontinued in 2016 and the cloud app is no longer able to connect with the router. At least Amazon has a good return policy for this obsolete piece of equipment.

Poor Range and 5G dropout
I purchased thsi Item on March 19th of 2020 and I've had noting but problems with it. It's required frequent restarts and the 5G side has very limited range and drops out frequently. I sought support but was told the unit was discontinued in 2016 and that i would need to pay for any support. Enough for me - I returned the unit. Was very greatful for Amazon's return polcy.

Overall a Very nice product! 1 or 2 issues...
I had a Netgear D3600 rrp around £160 and my connection was dropping left, right and center... by this point I had had enough and I started looking at D-Link as a close friend recommended them. Pros: The router looks very nice and minimal, with the two lights on the front for at a glance information. I'ts currently sitting in the garage and its just running... doing its job and doing it well. I have around 20 - 25 devices connected to the router at one time and it doesn't have any issues running them. I also have a Seagate 1TB USB drive plugged into the USB Port and I can get read and right speeds on Ethernet of around 12/mbps. The wireless speeds are very nice. With my MacBook connected over AC streaming movies is seamless and not to mention the 2.4ghz isn't slacking either. Possibly one of the best I have tested for wireless. Range for me was Average for a router of this class. Over average for most other routers in a lower price range. It can push content to my smart TVs using DLNA from the connected Hard drive and it works a treat. The router also works fine with Apple TV's and Sonos systems. Cons: The worst part for me was the first day. Got the router set up and getting internet very easily. But in the first day the connection dropped much like the last router around once every two hours. This cleared up after the first day and the connection has now been live for days. The web UI could do with an upgrade but its not bad. The first time I tried to AirPlay Mirror my MacBook Pro to my Apple TV it froze the network... but after a restart now it works fine. Same with the Sonos. First time I tried to set up the Sonos it froze the router, but after restarting it works fine and has been for days... its been flawless. I would put these down just to teething problems as everything is spot on now hence the 5 stars. My connection gets 10ping, 20mbps down and 11mbps up quite consistantly. I have a WISP. If you have any questions please feel free to message me! ~Alex

Note de 10 sans souci ! ...
