Deep concerns...
Okay, so this is the first review that I've ever left for a book. Not because I'm lazy or anything, it's just because I was always super excited to dive into the next one that I've never had time (or gave a second thought) to left my opinion. I'm a longtime fan of the series, and I see Derek Landy as an incredibly talented writer. Stories packed with details, humor and good amount of cliffhangers - that's what draw me to this series (by complete accident my mom made me a present containing first 3 books of a series, and I was doomed to fall in love with it since then). But one detail struck me as I was reading through the first half of this book (maybe I was even farther, can't remember) - I was struck by the whole scene created on the paper. I was afraid that Derek Landy might shift his writing into Dark Fantasy, which would be a HUGE sucker punch for me as a fan! The humor! Where the hell is humor?! I knew everything that happened to Valkyrie, but I wasn't ready for this change of mood in writing. And later on, when jokes started popping up and I was laughing again, I finally said: "that God!" And thank YOU, DEREK, for bringing you old self back into the game! Wish you never change, you're perfect as it is!

Nail biting adventure
I enjoyed this story, it was fast, lots of action and easy to read. But. lots of characters, a very complex story line and as it was (I think) book number ten in the series, references to past escapes and characters were not explained and I have no intention of purchasing the other nine preceding copies nor the ? following copies in order to get the full story!I am not a fan of serialised books, it tells me the author is scared of writing a stand alone novel.

Jumping back in with Skulduggery
While I enjoyed the book quite a bit, the ending didn’t leave me satisfied. It set up new events, seemingly building to a bigger story as the first 9 slowly built to Darquesse, but at the end I wasn’t as satisfied that the book stands on its own as I was for the others in the series. That doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy the book or fly through it, i did, but that is why I can’t give it a 5* rating.

Awesome book series!!!
My son and I have both read this entire series. It is an awesome series for the tween or teen in your life that likes fantasy. I have thoroughly enjoyed it as an adult, laughing out loud at times and getting attached to the characters. I highly recommend this series.

The fall of Skullduggery pleasant
I have been a Huge fan of the series since a long time and I consider it as one of the best.Every single book uptil now has been exquisite and I have loved every single moment. But Resurrection let me down.Valkyrie has taken a dark turn which I am not against but she is just whining about coming back for half the book. The time gap is too long and many significant events have been skipped.I mean....what the hell happened to finbar and Cassandra? Why are there so many new characters without any kind of introduction? Why does omen darkly seem more like the main character than the both of them?Even the part with Gant and Jeremiah in the dying of the light was useless. Please do not this to us Derek.Neel

Skullduggery pleasant
I think Derek Landy is an amazing writer, especially for the skullduggery series. One of the things that I noticed and like is that you get such a detailed view of skullduggery, but he is one of the few characters that you don’t get a part of of the story from his eyes. Overall an awesome book (Ethan Hunt)

This wasn't my favourite book from this series
I've been a long time fan of the Skulduggery pleasant, and it was delightful to walk in the world once more. This wasn't my favourite book from this series, but so good to see Valkyrie and Skulduggery saving the world from yet another Apocolypse. :)

Imperfect return to form
Good to see Cain and Pleasant back in action, and the dialogue is hilarious, but there are some structure and pacing issues and the book takes a long time to setup what it essentially the rest of the series-an overlong prologue, as it were. Still one of the best series and world's around and with characters that are top tier.

Still the same Derek Landy sense of humour,
Still the same Derek Landy sense of humour, but a very episodic plot with too many complications and not threatening enough general story

A hundred stars out of five...
OMG THIS IS THE BEST BOOK IN THE SKULDUGGERY SERIES AND I RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYONE WHO LOVES FAST PACED ACTION, WITH A HINT OF HUMOR AND AN AMAZING PLOT. This book is beautifully structured and plotted with sudden turns and jumps making it by far the best in the series, and is finished with a perfect cliff hanger. A hundred stars out of five. Mr Landy I hope you still have the guts to write a book 11...
