Received the machine yesterday, much sooner than promised. It's easy to use and makes great ice, but there is a problem. The machine stops making ice when the ice container is full -- and this is good because you don't want it to continue making ice when there is no more room for the new ice cubes. The way the machine "knows" that the ice container is full is by a small metal sensor located at the top of the container (see picture). When the metal sensor is very cold, the machine thinks the container is full and stops producing new ice. But the problem is that the newly-made cubes fall into the container in a random fashion. If they happen to pile up near the sensor (which happened to me twice yesterday), the sensor thinks the container is full of ice even though it's not! When I noticed that the machine had stopped, I looked in and saw an ice cube touching the metal sensor -- but the container was not full. When I moved the cube away from the sensor, the production of new ice started again (after about 15 - 30 seconds). This is a design defect (not a unit defect), which means that the design defect will be on ALL of these particular Tavata high-end stainless steel machines. But it would have been so easy for the manufacturer to have put a small, plastic, deflector just above the metal sensor -- to prevent any ice from dropping down and piling up so that it touched the sensor. I may have to fashion my own deflector to solve this problem. by the way, I made sure the machine was on a perfectly level surface -- so that's NOT what caused the problem.But I give this Tavata high-end stainless steel ice-making machine FOUR stars because it makes great ice in just 6 minutes for the small size ice cubes, and just about 9 minutes for the larger size ice cubes (three different sizes are possible). There is one other disappointment: the machine is loud when it's making ice. However, this is the only stand-alone ice maker I have ever used, so loudness might be common to all the stand-alone ice makers on the market. I just don't know. But I do know that I'm mostly satisfied with this machine, and I'd recommend it to friends -- as long as they know of the aforementioned design defect.

Great product. Produces ice quickly. It is fairly noisy, but we have it in a place thhat doesn't matter.

I really like this ice maker. It’s quiet and produces great bullet type ice. Very fast. Perfect for parties and stocking up for beach. It’s made of good quality materials with stainless steel sturdy body. Looks nice on kitchen countertop. I like the drain on the side versus the bottom. Very convenient. Holds at least 3 liters of water in reservoir. I highly recommend this product from a good company.

I just got this. It is a handsome tho heavy machine. It's weight doesn't bother me but it might some. I let it settle and cleaned it as they reccomend. I plugged it in and programmed it per directions (yes, real instructions come with it) put water in and let it go. It is not fast, but after a around 10 hours, I had a 10 lb bag full of delicious ice. My fridge makes some ice but it tastes nasty, but this, using the same water tastes just like our drinking water, no yucky taste. So far i'm very pleased with this machine. We used to use stand alone automatic ice makers and in this desert heat, they always broke down after a year. I finally got my way and got this one, that I will keep inside and use as needed. It does not keep ice frozen, instead it recycles the melted cubes and makes new ones. I'm okay with that. I just wait till the tray is full and dump it all in an ice bag. As I said, I filled 10 lb. bag in the course of about 10 hours. I only refilled tank one time during that time. If anything changes I will update my review but right now. I'm happy to have ice in the house again, without having to run to the store. This seems to be a very good machine, only downside to me is "made in China". But ya know, they gotta eat, too. It's all good so far.
