Junk
This is my 3rd floormate. The first two lasted forever.Bought this July 2020 for $149.99. It is now April 2023 and I'm avoiding doing my taxes by venting about this poorly engineered hunk of junk. The clean soapy water solution tank cap was faulty after my first use. Hoover sent me an entire new floormate instead of just a new crappy cap. So, 9 months pregnant during the height of the plannedemic, I had to go to the shipping store to send back the first unit. Fast forward a bit, and the solution sprayer part on that clicks on over the brush quit working. Ordered that part direct from hoover because it's cheaper than here. The solution tank cap has since failed twice more but since I just replaced a $40 part, I will order another cap... again. Ebay this time because I can get two for what I would pay for one on Amazon.Update: May 2024, it has finally stopped being functional completely. Everyone I turn it on and tilt the handle back to engage the brush, it turns off. Definitely not worth the current 3 hundred dollar price, which is double what I paid initially. You've been warned.

Battery issues
Works pretty well and is much lighter weight that the original floor mate. It does not scrub as well as the original either. Battery life isn’t that great I can get about 3/4 through my 1800 sq foot home before it dies. Not sure it’s worth buying the second battery at $50. I like the cleaning tray and feature, but again you have to have battery power to use it, so if it does mid clean you are stuck waiting until the battery is recharged. I would recommend the original floor mate if you don’t care about lightweight and cordless. It is a better product but bulky and not as easy to get into smaller spaces.Update: after about 6 months of extreme frustration with the battery because it slowly started work for less and less time, the batter completely stopped charging. There is a factory warranty and I was able to get a new battery sent. The new one is a 4.0 battery. I am hoping this one last longer. If you have a battery that isn’t working we’ll call Hoover and have them send you a new battery for fee.

Perfect for pet owners
I have an 18 year old dog with seizures and incontinence. This floor cleaner is exactly what I needed. Mops just pushed the mess around. Swiffer just smeared it thin enough to not see it (the residue was still there and dried sticky). This device gets it up off the floor, cleans the floor and immediately gets the residual dirty water off the floor.BTW, battery lasted long enough to clean a 14ftX22ft space in 1 charge.Update: less than a year later...Very disappointed in the battery. After paying $300 for the machine I expected it to last for years. Now I have to spend another $100 for a new battery because it won't take a charge😡

An exercise in frustration and futility.
This unit replaced my third dead Hoover hard floor cleaner. The good:Lightweight and super maneuverable.Easy to operate.Love that it’s cordless. The bad:Battery life is mediocre on eco setting and just awfulon high. You still need to get out the Dyson and vacuum thoroughly first in order to save battery life to concentrate on wet cleaning.Extra battery packs and chargers are very expensive, but necessary. The time, effort and huge mess necessary to clean the unit after every use is ridiculous. The regular roller brush is only slightly more effective than a wet Kleenex swiped across the floor. The soft roller brush is useless. You still need to clean every floor edge by hand or with a wet Swiffer type mop as this machine will not get closer than one and a half inches to the wall.Incredibly messy when emptying the dirty water tank; I keep the whole thing in the bathroom now as it’s more efficient to empty it into the toilet. Ugh.UPDATENine months later and I’m waiting for the warranty department to contact me. I’m now on my fourth unit which replaced the third unit which replaced the second unit which replaced my first unit! The Hoover representatives are very nice, and when I call with the latest problem they send me a new one, however, I do not want a new unit - I just want one to work consistently and reliably. This is apparently not going to happen especially now I’ve noticed the unit is no longer being sold by Hoover. I should mention that on every customer service call the representatives always note my original purchase date of July 2020, and repeat that the warranty on all the subsequent replacements will be invalid after July 2021. At this point I have zero confidence I will receive a unit which will actually work. I bought extra brush rolls, extra filters, extra battery charger and extra batteries amounting to almost $250. This is in addition to the original purchase price. I am beyond frustrated, but not to worry as Hoover is totally fine with that.I’d say DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE, but by no longer manufacturing it Hoover is saying it for me.
