Tanaka 32307 No Brainer Quick Load Cutting Head for Curved Shaft String Trimmers

When the engineers thought of the bump head style feeder they must have been on something illegal. The bump head feeders are the bane of any weeder's existence. As I stopped every two minutes to disassemble the head to untie, readjust, and reassemble I had cursed every phase under the sun aimed towards the ungodly men that let this mechanism pass through inspection and deemed it worthy. So I set out to find something not thought up from the 7th circle of hell, and arrived at this god's sent angel. Oh my god the heavens opened up when it arrived at my door step! It took five minutes to install and did my whole front yard and back yard in a third the time than the bump head style I had before. Everyone who is tired of a bump head MUST buy this it will be a god sent! It's very durable and it fit my Ryobi weeder. It comes with six green threads which is a plus. It couldn't be easier to change lines (just one button!) and you're off to tame your lawn! It came with easy instructions, and three set of adapters for multiple types of weeder companies.Pros: Easy to install, not a bump-head, cuts lawn time in half, easy to change lines, lighter than bump-head, durable, increased RPM.Cons: not free, didnt come with cake

Installed with no problems on my Hitachi curved shaft trimmer CG22EAB SLP. This saves a ton of time since the bump head that came with the trimmer never worked.4 stars since the directions were not exactly straight forward and clear. And you'll probably need your trimmer's owner manual for directions on taking off the cutting head.

First this is the correct No Brainer for TroyBilt trimmers regardless if you have a straight or curved shaft you need Tanaka model 32307. I am going to guess this is also correct for all trimmers produced by MTD such as Polan and Cub Cadet. I am replacing a Pivo-Trim cutting head with this No Brainer because the Pivo-Trim has a fatal flaw of having one metal fastener, a nut in in this case, to allow the Pivo-Trim to spin. Since this connection point is the most critical area to make the Pivo-Trim function it should not be surrounded by only plastic. The No Brainer is metal to metal connection point making it Much stronger which will make it last longer than the one season I was able to use the Pivo-Trim. Installing the No Brainer is simple you remove the line feed assembly that we all have done countless times then find the correct adapter from those supplied. For my TroyBilt I had to use the supplied wrench to remove 5 screws from the No Brainer bottom cover and swap the adapter to the one I need to use. Reinstall the 5 screws that hold the covers together and then thread the adapter onto the trimmer shaft. If you can change the line in your trimmer you can do this. Using the No Brainer has been with out any surprises I am on the second piece line out of the 6 that came with the No Brainer this is some heavy duty line! and changing it takes about 2 minutes or less. Push the red button and pull the old line out hold the red button down and push the new line in then trim. Best money I ever spent on a trimmer.

Ordered the because I was tired of fighting with tangled trimmer line. When my package came instead of a new head all I got was a spool of trimmer line with a sticker on it that said it was a trimmer head. I sent the trimmer line back and requested a replacement be sent out and got another spool of trimmer line. When I tried a third time they simply canceled my order. Don't bother ordering from these people since they can't seem to tell the difference between trimmer line and a trimmer head.

I have a popular Hitachi Gas Model Trimmer, but this does not fit it. I eventually improvised using parts and pieces laying around. Because of a gap created by attaching this thing, anything but short grass has a tendency to wind around the exposed part of the shaft, which eventually interferes with operation, slowing or eventually stopping it from turning, and must be untangled periodically.Furthermore, I have a small yard, and was surprised at how quickly the Tanaka pre-cut line, .095-inch, frays and/or simply breaks. Although thicker than the .08-inch green line I've used in the past, the thinner green line holds up better that these do.

Product works as stated, but there is no reason you should have to use one of the included adapters for it to fit a Tanaka weedeater. The product itself works fine and adapters are included.

Years of use had rendered my bump head useless on my Stihl FSA 65. It was frustrating to get off the trimmer and rewind the line and more frustrating to get it back on and feeding properly. I was prepared to dump the working trimmer for one with a better line solution despite having the hedge trimmer and mover that use the same battery. I found this one on Amazon and decided to give it a try and if it didn't fit return it. To my chagrin one of the adaptors fit the threads and after a quick disassembly with the torx driver provided I was up and running.The only side note is this mounts to the end of the threads on the shaft so it's elevated above the plane that the built in line cutter works but that's really a non issue as you cut the line into sections to use this head. I'll try to remember to post pictures of the mount later but I wanted to share that it fit my off the wall trimmer and worked fine. Trimmer has plenty of torque to spin the head at a good speed to trim and loading is a snap. I can actually use a larger diameter line now so I bet it will last longer.This Tanaka head was worth ever penny and I recommend it if it will fit your trimmer.
