Works, overpriced for quality
If you're a perfectionist don't expect this to be a jewel right out of the box. The speed mech. had poor fit and finish making a gritty feel having stiction at light pressure/ slower speeds. The sled had a bit of play on the rail. The worst part about this unit is the weak magnets supplied, it can make set up tedious and sometimes impossible. The EZ cut is nifty as is and has potential. I already rebuilt my mech. ( it's called a runaway escapement) replacing all bushings with abec 7 bearings, tightened the sled, and replaced the magnets with switchable indicator bases. The unit also needs knob adjustable X and Z axis tip rest bars to speed set up in my opinion. This could be way nicer if FlameTech continued to evolve the design. I feel it wasn't their big seller and probably wasn't worth their time to do so.I like mine but I'm a perfectionist and I had to invest more money and effort than the initial cost to get there. It's my opinion that the Scorpion EZ cut as is cannot be expected to make consistently perfect cuts quickly and conveniently, but it CAN be made to do so if you have the skill.

Stop!! Read this first!
This product is a great idea, but it’s craftsmanship is horrible!!! It actually made my cuts worse, because it catches ever inch or so causing the cut to stop them jumps causing a massive blow out! I’ve been in this line of work for more than 15 years and bought this for my employees to help speed up productivity and have thrown in in the scrap bean because it just doesn’t work well at all!!!

This is the most disappoing tool purchase I have ever made. Very cheaply made, this feels like something that should be sold at harbor freight.
