More than "marketing"
I was able to hear Fred speak at a conference for the company I worked for this past December. I was impressed at that time, and promptly went home and bought his book. However, I didn't read the book until just the past few days. I've recently been looking into opening my own office, and decided to crack this book open and see what it was all about.Very good read. The book covers some simple things that I plan to implement when I open my practice that I believe will make a HUGE difference. It's not just a book about "advertising" your office through media sources (though that it is covered), in fact, the first half or so of the book covers how to simply make the dental experience more pleasant and enjoyable for your patients, and how to get them to see the value in your dentistry. This was huge for me, as its something that really isn't covered in school. We as dentists know we offer a great service to our patients and their general health, although most times they don't realize it. It's up to us to be able to communicate with our patients the importance of what we do, and to do so in a comforting manner that allows the patient to have confidence and faith in the care we provide. This book covers that.I graduated a year ago and wish his book was taught as a course in school.

Mind blowing!
We've done some advertising in our practice before, but never any marketing, at least not intentional marketing. This is an important distinction made clear and rammed home by Mr. Joyal. If you don't know the difference, you're wasting every dollar you spend on advertising, and you and your team may be sending all the wrong messages to your patients. Unless you are well trained and read on the art of marketing, you need this book. It blew my mind and also will save us a ton of wasted money because as we begin our new advertising campaign, our team will be marketing. We bought a copy for each team member to read, too! I wish I had read this three years ago.

Are you a dentist?
Downloaded this book onto my Kindle3...I am only half way through the book and had to write a review!Easy read. Good practical information on marketing your practice. Insight into "the mind of your patients". After listening to thousands of 1.800.Dentists calls, he knows what our patients are looking for. Simple reports to run to check the viability of your practice. Are you a dentist? Buy it, download it, read it...not much more to say. JUST DO IT! (Trust me, this book won't be like the drawer full of endo systems we all purchased over our dental career...laid to rest in dental heaven.)

Worth Every Penny!
I bought this book for a job interview as marketing director of a dental office. Joyal really knows his stuff. I must say that all of his points not only relate to dentistry but make a great crossover into the veterinarian field as well. (I do both) He states that everything beyond an extraction is optional and the crossover relates as everything beyond euthanasia is optional. Sounds stupid and heartless to those on the inside of both practices but to the lay person it is the truth. Great read and easy to comprehend. I highly recommend it!

Great book
This book has some great ideas on internal marketing and customer service. But half of it is a sales pitch for 1800dentist. I would say you will definitely get something out of it for your practice.

Worth every penny
This book is well worth the investment. It is easy-to-read and contains invaluable information and strategies to help your dental office to be successful. I stumbled upon it while searching Amazon for resources regarding setting up a first-time dental practice. I am grateful I did!! Thanks Fred Joyal for sharing your insight and expertise!

This is written by an author who seems like a good guy who helps remind you that pretty much everything you do is a reflection on you and your business.

Great ideas, and I think it is a marketing tool itself
Many many great ideas on how to advertize dental practice. The only concern - it looks like the whole thing is steering toward buying into their product.
