Great tips for photographers going to Botswana and Namibia
I am going to Botswana this weekend. Not my first visit to Africa. The first was to Tanzania. Bought about 20 books on different subjects related to my trip. That's me. This books rates at the top of my list, if you are a photographer, amateur of pro. I consider myself an advance amateur, and this book was incredible useful to plan the places to visit, the equipment to take and what to expect in the different seasons. Now I know that to see wild dogs (one of my very dear expectations), the best place for consistent viewing is Linyanti, but hopefully I will have a decent change in Mombo. Rhino and Leopard are high in my list. The book starts with an introduction including a very useful sunray map of the time of the day and type of light to expect, brief forays into composition, animal behaviour and ethical aspects of wildlife photography. Every location start with a map and its location relative to the country and the coordinates.Ilustrations are gorgeous. The explanations, modes of transportation for different goals, descriptions, all conspires to submerge me in the place before I am actually there. There are highlights of each place as well as a rating of abundance, viewing and photo potential for different subjects like landscape, birds, mammals, predators etc. Includes equipment suggestions ( am taking the recommended lenses)and in general useful advise. I highly recommend this book, concise and easy to read, chock-full of excellent information
