Works GREAT on my remoted Craftsman 5HP workshop compressor
My air compressor is installed on the INSIDE of my small garage shop. Problem is, I needed an air supply hose on the OUTSIDE of the shop wall and I could NOT get to the pressure switch on the compressor (on the other side of the wall). So, how about installing an ON/OFF switch on the OUTSIDE of the shop wall and simply turn the compressor ON when I needed air... Yep, this switch works like a CHAMP and does exactly what I need it to do. Problem solved. Only complaint - the metal switch box made by Leviton for this switch is rather pricy, but it is a WELL MADE box so I will just live with the cost.

Nice action
This is a very nice switch. Using it to make a switched outlet for a saw. Bought with Hubbell-Raco 906C 1 steel box. Needs a deep box as this switch is fairly large. There is a positive detent action for the on and off positions preventing it from being sort of in the middle. Hefty device too. Will definitely buy again.

working well enough for air compressor
I found out that I need a special switch for controlling electric motor. I selected this switch for 5HP air compressor, being within the switch rating. It would have been nice if available in white but brown seems to be the preferred color for 220 hardware. I have been using it for a couple months, hardly an endurance test but it seems fine. The switch action takes a little more force than an ordinary household switch but still easy to manipulate.

Very well built!
Feels like it was well built, and graded for industrial applications. I installed mine as a dehumidifier disconnect for a single throw 230V application.
