Fantastic Pottery and an Incredibly Beautiful Book
I have several copies of this 'virtually unbelievable' book and I just ordered another one of the hardback. My wife and I have also purchased several pieces of Mata Ortiz pottery and it's so exceptional, almost beyond the concept that most of us have, of "'beautiful".If you like Southwest Indian pottery, or if you merely thrive on finding great original art, then you'll LOVE Mata Ortiz/Casas Grandes pottery, and you'll love this book nearly as much.Casas Grandes is the sister village of Mata Ortiz, and Juan Quezada originally started designing and producing this pottery, in Mata Ortiz itself. Over the years, Juan has trained and taught hundreds of local artists in both villages, and his expertise as a teacher is every bit as valuable as his own pottery skills.Juan is still alive and this book is probably the very best example of the work that derives from these two villages in northernMexico. Walter Parks is also wonderful and I can't imagine my life without some Mata Ortiz pottery, and this fantastic book.

A treasure!
This is a beautiful book. I will treasure it as I do the three pieces of pottery by potters noted.
