Really good read
I almost stopped after the early chapters. They read like a soap opera. Then it got better. Lots better. The action narrative was riveting. I'm looking forward to read more from Kevin.

Another fantastic book
The author has a gift for character and plot development, all wrapped in authentic naval aviation background. He puts you on the ship, in the briefings and in the cockpit. Awesome stuff, I couldn’t put it down.

Above and Beyond a Mere Fiction Tale
Captain Miller writes with the US Navy aviator in mind. This book is ABSOLUTELY spellbinding. (I am a non-rated retired USAF officer.) Whether air-to-air, or air-to ground missions, Miller's descriptions capture the emotion and energy in the cockpit. Activities on board the carrier are described in such detail you can almost feel the energy and smell the ocean breeze. Miller's use of acronyms and "Navy-jargon", may be unfamiliar, but you can certainly get the gist of the communication. I especially enjoyed reading his description of the effect of women on-board as fighter pilots, intelligence officers, and on-deck Petty Officers. Time consuming mission planning, arming aircraft with correct mission ordinance, the jolt of the"cat" launch and on-board recovery at night and in weather are all absorbing activities described in great detail. This "Raven One" trilogy is an edge-of-your seat fictional account of his main character (and others) "Flip" (call-sign) Wilson, the Silver Waterfall, a novel of the battle of Midway is ALSO a must read of Kevin Miller. It has its moments
A good read in general. I occasionally went glassy eyed on the level of detail describing certain preparations or circumstances. Still, some darned good stories. Worth the read and the follow up

Very good read.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It is the 2nd of 3 books in the series. His story lines and characters are fantastic. Kevin Miller is a great author and I love how he adds technical jargon to his stories. I am currently reading the 3rd book in the Flip Wilson series and I plan to buy more of Kevin Miller books.

Plenty Of Flying Action, With Some Drawbacks!
The first 25% of this book can be skipped, with only a small detriment to the plot. This section is pure fluff. The action picks up remarkedly in the remainder of the story, with lots of in-flight drama that is fairly close to the mark. However, the last battle scene is somewhat confusing. The dialog is so swamped with innumerable personal, flight and agency call signs that it becomes impossible to figure out who's who. One point that will stretch the reader's credulity is the automated landing on a carrier. This could produce such a hairy ride that the system would decouple, resulting in disaster. Why not have the blinded pilot eject next to a carrier escort, and be picked up by para rescuemen?

True Naval Ops
Another great book by Kevin Miller. Every page you feel like you're serving with the men and women aboard USS Coral Sea. Definitely the best writing when it comes to F18 ops. From technical to the lingo. Can't wait to start book 3.

Gripping tale
The story starts off a little slow, but when it picks up it's pedal t the metal. Hard to put down.

Excelente continuação do Raven One
O escritor consegue se superar com essa obra em todos os momentos. Realmente um Thriller digno de filme, parabéns aí Kevin Miller!

Not that good
Raven One was much better. This second book is not very good. Lots of loose ends, stories that begin and seem important but then never end and are forgotten by the author. He also tries to write parts of some conversations in Spanish and most of them make no sense or have spelling and grammar mistakes which do not look good at all. I think I will not buy the third book :(

Another stunner.
A great follow up, read as a sequel or stand alone. Just enjoy the flair and complexity and authenticity that flows through this book. You enter this world of jets and technology and get taken on a ride of action, great characters, strong plot and that sense of satisfaction that this author knows his onions.
