Review: One of my FAVES!!! - When I was 16, my dad bought this album for me for Christmas. I was an advanced piano player who had taught myself to play at 6. I also have a knack fire being able to hear something and then play it. This cd, in particular the Variations on Kannon, was my saving grace in stressful times. My mom walked in 1 day and I was sitting at my piano, legs crossed Indian style on the bench, eyes closed, and I was just sitting there playing along to the song. Due to a bad car accident that crushed my left hand and required 5 extensive surgeries and lots of reconstruction and metal pins, I was unable to play for a while and got disgruntled....I gave up piano entirely. My son recently got into playing and it made me realize how much I missed it. For the life of me, I couldn't remember what this cd was, but one day, we were out to eat and I heard it. Soundhound became my best friend that day. Lol. I immediately came home and found it on desertcart and purchased it. I loved it so much, I even purchased his piano book that has Variations of Kannon in it. I found my passion again.

I've always loved George Winston's music. I heard December at a restaurant I went to and just had to get it It's so beautiful. I searched for it and was thrilled that I found it and was able to buy it.

Lieferung aus USA perfekt - Großartige CD
Bei einer Feier mit einem ernsten Anlass wurde zu Beginn aus dieser CD der Titel Nr. 3 gespielt. Ich habe mich danach sogleich nach der CD erkundigt und wurde auf den mir bis dahin unbekannten George Winston (CD: December) hingewiesen. Bei meiner Amazon-Recherche stellte ich dann fest, dass diese CD offenbar nur noch antiquarisch erhältlich war (und das auch noch aus den USA). Trotzdem habe ich die Bestellung gewagt , musste mich eine Zeit gedulden, war aber dann doch positiv überrascht, als die CD eintraf. Die Klaviermusik ist einfach großartig. Die Email-Begleitung des Versands durch die Firma in den USA (in deutscher Sprache) war perfekt.

凍える世界の美しさ
George Winstonと言えば『Autumn』だと思ってたし、その考えは『Summer』や『Winter into Spring』聴いても変わらなかった。 実に10年近くかかって、ようやく四部作最後の一枚、『December』に手を出した。ようやく、順位が変動に至る。 私の勝手なイメージだけど、George Winstonのピアノは冷たい。 そして、いつも木は葉っぱを落としていて、空はめちゃくちゃに高く、晴れ渡っている。たぶん、これは昔から見てきた『Autumn』のジャケットのイメージなんだろう。 だけど、そのイメージにはやっぱり間違いがないと思う。彼には寒い季節のイメージが非常によくあっている。 もともと、ピアノのインストゥルメンタルといえばGeorge Winstonしか聴かなかったので、「ピアノ=冷たい楽器」というイメージすらあった。 だけども、西村由紀子やRichard Claydermanに冷たい音というイメージを持つ人はそうそういないんじゃないかと思う。 それだけに、Winstonの奏でる音は極めて特殊なんじゃないかと思うのだ。 この『December』。特に『Night』三部作、とても屋内のスタジオで演奏されている楽曲とは思えない。 そこにあるのは、紛れもない冬の夜。息は白く、よく晴れて。イメージの中で、私は冷たい空気を吸い込む。 凍える世界に、怖いくらい美しい音色が深々と響いて、藍色の闇のなかに吸い込まれていく。 これが、『December』の、George Winstonの世界。
