Monster! #13: January 2015 - Hammer Studios Special

My wife bought me this book, so I'm reviewing it on her Amazon account. Another terrific issue of MONSTER!--the second I've read so far--packed with entertaining, informative articles and plenty of monstrously lurid photos to balance the blend. Favorite features this time out were the history of the DINOSAURS ATTACK! cards and the comparison piece on the many versions of I AM LEGEND. I'm very happy to have discovered this magazine. It scratches the FAMOUS MONSTERS itch within me--but with a lot better writing. Plus, it's extremely reasonably priced! I thought I was done collecting monster mags, but I was wrong. I'm looking forward to getting as many of these as I can. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Another winner from Tim Paxton and his crew of excellent writers. If you haven't experienced an issue of this zine yet, you are doing yourself a total disservice, especially if you are a fan of monster movies. I consider myself well-versed in the monster film genre, but not an issue goes by in this excellent zine that doesn't teach me something new. Films from around the world are reviewed and they are done with the respect and writing they deserve. So quit sitting on your hands, go to the computer and order an issue, any issue. You'll be glad that you did. I usually don't give out platitudes to the competition, but Tim and his crew deserve all the good press they deserve. Yes, they are that good!

Grew up collecting Famous Monsters, CAstle of Frankenstein and other Monster Magazines and this fits right in with the best of them. I like the digest size but wish the pictures inside had come out sharper.

If you are new to the horror movie craze this magazine maybe right up your alley. If like me you are an old fan then tread carefully as I found little new here but most reviews and articles were accurate if not brilliant. It is an easy read and good for the price.

I am obsessed with this magazine--It's well written and informative. This issue features work about two of my old friends, Brendan Faulkner and Gary Gerani. Brendan was the original director of SPOOKIES which is reviewed within, and Gary talks about DINOSAURS ATTACK. Plus other great pieces about HAMMER.Buy every issue!!!

Love this magazine. Great fun for anyone who loves old horror movies or just the wierd and wonderful. Find out something new in each issue.

One of the best publications out there! If you are a fan of everything monster, from the well known to the obscure and/or foreign, this is for you.

No doubt about it. This is Famous Monsters for grown ups.

I enjoyed the "Hammer" Dracula and Frankenstein sections.
